To save Encinitas, we need to know what’s happening in our coastal city. We cover key issues: housing, homeless, tourism, crime & City Hall w/humor.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Let's talk about the WMA . . .

A representative from the WMA spoke at last week's city council meeting and asked the council to forego the temporary rent freeze. Why?

The WMA (Western Manufactured Housing Communities Association) is a lobbying organization that represents mobile home park owners and operators in California.

The WMA advocates for park owners on legislation and local policies, including laws that can affect rent increases and tenant protections.

When cities like Encinitas explore protections to help keep mobile home living affordable, the WMA can lobby against those measures on behalf of the park-owner industry.

But who is advocating for the homeowners?

For many residents, a mobile home represents their life savings, their retirement, and their ability to remain in the community they call home. Unlike traditional renters, mobile homeowners often own their homes but must pay rent for the land beneath them.

That's why local protections, controlled by the CITY (NOT the WMA), matter.

Mobile homeowners deserve a voice, fair treatment, and the opportunity to age in place without the constant fear of unfair rent increases.

While we appreciate the WMAs presence at the city council meeting and believe that both sides should have a voice in the matter, we hope that the @cityofencinitas understands that siding with a lobbying group who protects wealthy park owners is not in its constituents' best interests.

Follow along to see what happens!

OCT 21st: the council will open up the matter for public comment.

OCT 28th: the council will vote on a temporary rent freeze, while they research and develop an ordinance that protects mobile homeowners from unfair space fee increases.

💰🌴 FOLLOW THE MONEY, ENCINITAS!

Big developers. Real estate investors. Political PACs. And a whole lot of money being spent to attack Mayor Bruce Ehlers. 👀

Coincidence? You decide. 💸

Since when did developers become so concerned about who sits on YOUR City Council?

And here’s the million-dollar question:

🚨 WHO BENEFITS IF BRUCE EHLERS IS VOTED OUT?

We’ve been digging into the campaign finance records, and the money trail deserves your attention.

Who’s writing the checks? Who’s behind the PACs? And what interests are they trying to advance in Encinitas?

👀 ENCINITAS, BUCKLE UP.

We’re about to pull back the curtain on who’s behind the attack ads targeting our current City Council.

💰 Follow the money.
🔎 Connect the dots.
🎭 Look at who’s trying to control the narrative.

There’s A LOT to unpack. And the deeper you dig, the more questions arise.

But first, a little refresher on some familiar faces and the players involved. Because understanding who’s connected to whom is where this story gets interesting.

Hey Encinitas! 👋

If we haven’t met yet, we’re American Deluxe Barbershop, your locally owned neighborhood barbershop right here in North County San Diego.

You can find us in Moonlight Marketplace, right off the 5 on Encinitas Boulevard, just a few minutes from the coast.

We’ve got a great crew of experienced barbers who work with just about every generation. From little guys getting their first haircut to teenagers figuring out their style, dad’s bringing in their sons, working professionals, military, and gentlemen who’ve been rocking the same haircut for the last 30 years.

Whether you’re looking for a clean skin fade, a classic gentleman’s cut, a high and tight, a longer scissor cut, or a fresh beard lineup, we’ve got some talented people behind the chairs who would love to take care of you.

One of the things we love most about our shop is how easy it is to stop by. No appointments needed, walk-ins are always welcome, and we’re open seven days a week. Just bring cash, come on in, and we’ll get you taken care of.

We’ve been fortunate to call Encinitas home for years, and we’re grateful for all the locals who continue to support us.

So whether you’ve lived here your whole life, recently moved to North County, or you’re just passing through, we’d love to meet you.

Come say what’s up! 🤙

🚒 DISTRICT 3 — THE CHOICE IS CLEAR.

Ed Sprague brings something you simply can’t manufacture: real-world experience serving the public.

A firefighter. A proven leader on the water board. Someone who understands the ins and outs of municipalities, how to build consensus, manage public resources, work as part of a team, and most importantly, represent the people who live here.

That experience matters.

When public safety, responsible government, local control, and protecting the character of Cardiff are on the line, District 3 deserves someone with a proven record of public service.

His opponent lists her occupation as “landlord.”

Ed’s résumé? Firefighter. Public servant. Experienced local leader.

Come on, District 3 — Cardiff is counting on you. 🌊🚒

Vote for experience. Vote for public safety. Vote to protect the town we love.

Vote Ed Sprague for District 3.

⚠️ ENCINITAS VOTERS: PAY ATTENTION.

Remember the council that tried to bring us an increased sales tax?

Now the same political players (council, campaign managers and lawyers) are organizing through a dark money group called Encinitas Action and working to regain influence at City Hall.

Before you vote, ask yourself:

💰 Will they support higher taxes?

Encinitas voters changed the direction of City Hall. Now look closely at who is trying to change it back.

Know who is behind the endorsements.
Know the record.
Know what’s at stake.

Then make your choice. 🗳️
