Happy Halloween from Andre-A 23,000.

I’ve only dressed for Halloween once in life and I don’t know who convinced my mama to allow me and my brother to do it (last slide). Much like getting my first Easter basket 3 years ago, I decided to get creative and experience something that eluded me in childhood.

My mother didn’t celebrate ANY holidays when we were growing up. NONE. Not even birthdays really. I’ve spent my entire adulthood celebrating & honoring me (& Sol) the way other kids were treated growing up. by @savethebestforfirst

Just completed this two week workshop through @midnightandindigo.

It was amazing and @zin.e.rock was the BEST teacher. I’m excited to hone my villainous characters and explore flash fiction. by @savethebestforfirst

Some seasons are hard. Some moments feel like they will last forever. But they won’t.

This meditation is an invitation to stay present without believing that the present is permanent. Whatever you’re moving through, remember: this moment is not the whole story. by @savethebestforfirst

Nobody can ever make me turn down an opportunity to see this woman. Last niiighhhtttt was epic. Baltimore energy is always exactly what it needs to be🔥.

Only small glitch was the drunk woman I had to gather and tell her to get the entire hell away from me. Was sheee???? Y’all already know the answer.

#MedalMonday My favorite race of the year! the Baltimore Women’s Classic is the second oldest women-only race and the largest women-only race in the country. That cold wet towel at the end of the race is everything as is the 🌹

@tyetribbett turned the MGM Grand into a sanctuary. Had us in there until almost midnight. I got home at 2am.

The highlight and joy of my weekend was meeting these ΑΓ ladies of the 1958 line. The opportunity to talk with them and ask questions was amazing. Stumbling onto the fact they were the ladies in this iconic photo I’ve seen for years on social media…lawdhammercy! Getting them to take a photo with THEEEE photo…priceless. They were so tickled to learn that this pic had been on the internet for years. They brought me so much joy! Had me crying something terrible where I couldn’t even get through the Sweetheart Song. I was so honored they let me tag along with them. I miss them already.

I’m on a side quest to locate a couple of their line sisters🤞🏽 by @savethebestforfirst

Yesterday, I attended my first @wellreadblackgirl Festival. It will not be my last. The panels, book signings, sound baths? Amazing start to finish. Thankful for the authors that spoke with me about archiving as I’m working on two projects now.

I’ve never been asked, “Are you a writer?” so many times. I was happy to be able to answer, “YES! I am.” by @savethebestforfirst

AMY SHERALD! No further comment is necessary 🙌🏾
