DIVE BARN 2026!

Two sold-out shows. Over 450 of you, all gathered for a collective experience of humanity. There is no sweeter or more radical act of community than what we created together this past weekend.

Thank you for inspiring this way of spending time; braiding together our love of where we live, the joy of live performance, and sense of community.

More of this. Now, more than ever.

Magic is afoot! 🪽

Biggest love and thank you to every TNDC dancer, @ashleyllih @raenajade @elorisaxl @petercoccoma and @wdsnblck for being the heart of this program. Thank you to @ps21chatham for being such a radical resource and engine for creation and performing arts in the Hudson Valley.

MONTRÉAL, Sayer and I are happy to announce that we will be sharing our new creation “A Thousand Waves” at White Wall Studio on Sunday October 18th at 6pm.

“A Thousand Waves” is a piece about friendship, grief, cyclical rhythms, and is a world we are still living into.

We created the piece this summer in upstate New York for Sayer’s sweet community and we are looking forward to offering it in Montréal for our shared friends and peers. We are asking for a $10-15 sliding scale entry fee to join us for the sharing. This amount will contribute to studio rental and travel costs for Sayer’s travel from NY. Please DM or email me at sydneymcmanus@gmail.com with the subject “RSVP for A Thousand Waves” to reserve your spot.

We are deeply looking forward. Come join us for an evening of dance at sunset.

big love,
Syd and Sayer

Introducing Elori Saxl -
@elorisaxl is one of the most significant composers working today. A key figure in an emerging generation of American experimental musicians, the NY-based composer is taking up the torch of minimalism and fusing it with a sensibility informed by soundsystem culture and modern pop production. Saxl’s solo and ensemble works reimagine repetition, tonality and electroacoustic orchestration through an aqueous lens. Her music marries a sense of both the ancient and contemporary, integrating electronics and live performance with a timeless humanity. The result is bracingly modern and a wholly original contribution to the canon.

In addition to her own releases, she’s composed music for classical ensembles, PBS, the Guggenheim, the Getty, The National Film Board of Canada, Burton, Patagonia, Google, Poler, Dove, the New Yorker, This American Life, Public Radio International, SFMOMA.

Her music has been featured by The Washington Post, The Guardian, Pitchfork, The New Yorker, The Quietus, WNYC New Sounds, BBC Radio, Bandcamp Daily.

Introducing Ashley Hill -
@ashleyllih is an actor and dancer. She was raised in Eastern North Carolina and now resides in the woods and hills of Craryville. Ashley received a BFA in Dance Performance from East Carolina University and is a previous company member of GALLIM (The Joyce Theater/Jacob’s Pillow Ted Shawn Theatre). Beyond performance work, she is a Ilan Lev Method practitioner; a movement-based, hands-on bodywork technique.

Introducing Raena Jade -
@raenajade is a songwriter, folksinger (though not bound by genre), and ‘naturo-musicologist’ who likes to write tunes and record them in nature. Presently rooted in the Hudson Valley, Raena divides time between intimate live performances and capturing recordings from the landscape.

Feeling such deep trust after this past week of dance making. Sharing some words of reflection because they felt potent.

Thank you to all those that supported Sayer and I this past week to make a dream come true.

@wdsnblck for your support across the board on all realms
@elorisaxl and @petercoccoma for your sound system
@berkshirepulse for providing floor
@monna.maison team for your space and care
TND loves for bringing the best energy
And all those that came to watch our sharing

There is more to come from Jane and Fiona but for now we offer our deepest gratitude and love.
