“I’ll never forget how to know”, performed at PS21 Chatham on October 3rd 2026

Stop– It’s busy and vital. Find ur guts and
shake em. Gimme a spoonful of peanut butter
and a sip of milk. Gimme a big,
meaty waltz. I toss out
December, I’m mourning, I’m mourning
I toss out the nineties, toes to pavement at dusk
We are who we’ve become, pray about it
This is grief– no, more like attention

I am ready to hear this baby read aloud tonight
in a historic movie theater in Catskill, NY
on a stage in front of the massive screen where this movie will one day be showing 🙇‍♀️
a stage that was once for vaudeville players with curtains and ropes and ghosts from all its incarnations past
maybe even the original play was performed there in some era past,
so it will perhaps not be the first time the titular words ring out
TIS PITY SHE’S A WHORE
🕯️🩸🕯️

special shoutout to @haddad_v for helping us make this reading a reality 🦋

Wow. The 2026 summer season was a crazy, record-breaking ride.

By the numbers:

🎭 42 performances of 25 adventurous productions, both all-time PS21 highs. From May to September—something was always on.

👏 11 world premieres. 7 shows developed and built on our site, premiering here before heading off to @lincolncenter, @edintfest, @massmoca, @utrfest, and beyond…

🎟️ 17 pay-what-you-wish performances, and $12.50 no-questions-asked tickets available for every paid show. We introduced our ambitious new tiered ticketing system this year, bringing more affordable access to internationally acclaimed artists and shows to our community than ever before.

🌳 8 productions presented offsite or in surprising locations around our grounds–art embedded in nature, and brought straight to you.

📈 8,095 tickets sold across the season. That’s 32% more than last year, another record breaking year. Plus, we smashed the record for tickets sold to a single performance three times.

👋 26% of all audience members came to PS21 for the first time–more than 2,100 new faces.

You showed up for us this year, and we couldn’t be more happy to have you here. This community keeps growing bigger each year. Thank you to each and every one of you for being a part of something special.

Thanks so much to the nearly 2,000 (!) of you who came out this past weekend for our second annual Commonground Festival. It was an absolutely perfect weekend in celebration of the end of summer, of this community, and of the wonder and amazement only the performing arts can generate.

Thank you to the artists behind the weekend’s gigantic performances: Andrew Schneider (@helloandrewjs) and all the brilliant artists involved with FIELD, Touki Delphine (@toukidelphine) , Lesley Mok (@l.esley), Brian Chase (@brianchase123) , Booker Stardrum (@bookerstardrum), Bard Percussion, Sayer Mansfield & Company (@sayer___________), Elori Saxl (@elorisaxl), Raena Jade (@raenajade ) Ashley Hill (@ashleyllih), and of course, the beast mounted on stage all weekend: the 150-piece SUPERDRUM.

Thank you to Chez Diarra (@Chezdiarra) for the delicious food, to Baker Addiction (@bakeraddiction518) for providing the baked goods, to our friends next door at Crellin Park for the lawn games, and to everyone else who helped pitch in to make the weekend a blast.

We’re pretty sure we’ve never in history had as many cars in our parking lot as we had Sunday around 6pm. Thanks for joining us.
