I cannot tell you how excited I have been to do a trade with @thefoxglovebinder. I always feel so honored when someone wants to do a trade with me. I bound The Obligations We Keep by KnolleorNothing. When I read this amzing fic earlier this year, I could not wait to bind it!! I just absolutely loved it. It lives rent free in my head. I want to shout from the rooftops about it. I love a good eighth year fic, and this fic had everything that I yearn for in it.
Draco’s occlumency takes the form of a castle that has been pieced together in his mind, and I wanted that to be the focal point of the bind. Castles remind me of medieval times, which reminds me of illuminated manuscripts. See the 5 degrees of separation (or three degrees)?
I am about to give a somewhat of a spoiler, so if you have not read the fic (and I highly highly recommend it), don’t read this paragraph. For the castle, I “drew” it myself. I scoured Canva for elements of castles that fit my idea, traced all the parts of the castles in procreate, broke them all apart, and put them all together so that they looked like a castle that had been cobbled together. As the story progresses, the pieces of the castle start disappearing throughout bind to represent what is happening in the plot.
For the covers, I used printable canvas and then painted the gold parts of the designs with Daler Rowney gold acrylic ink to make it look more like an illuminated manuscript. I also used the same acrylic ink to paint the edges. I used cardstock for the end pages. I used 20 lb paper in cream from Church paper.
I love this fic so much that I had to make one for myself as well. This is the first one I have actually completed a bind for me in about two and a half years. I have to have this one on my shelf. I also made one KnolleOrNothing as well. She is just the loveliest person along with @thefoxglovebinder. Our community really does have the best people.

I made myself a faux stained glass picture of Hogwarts 💜💜💜. I love it so much. Hogwarts is probably my favorite part of the wizarding world. As a teen, it was definitely an escape for me and having a collection of various Hogwarts around me makes me happy. I found the image as well as the patterns used for the edges on Pinterest and traced them using procreate. I used an acrylic paint pen to draw the lines - many lessons were learned there. I just could not get the lead line paint to work. I colored everything in with Gallery Glass stained glass paint. The frame is a 12 in x 16 in pressed flower frame that I ordered off of Etsy. All in all, it took about a month to make. I can’t wait to make more things. I have a bunch of small frames waiting for paint. by @sayrahjoyce

My bind of Timeless by @alexandra_emerson_writes . I made two copies of this bind - one for a personal trade with @dragon_otter (my cup is amazing) and for @periwinklebindery for the #turnbacktimeexchange . I was a couple of months late on the exchange. I signed up for too many things last year and felt burnt out earlier this year. I worked hard to give myself grace and to take my time so that I produced something I can be proud of and not something that looked rushed. Luckily, Periwinkle Bindery’s favorite fic is Timeless, so hopefully it was worth the wait.
This was not my original design, but once it started to form in my mind, I could not let it go. I was inspired by the cover of After Him by Carolina Carter and thought it was so beautiful in its simplicity. I wanted to create something similar. I wanted the majority of the typeset to have a black and white color scheme with a clean font so that the gold of the time turner popped. My husband was instrumental in this bind - he drew the image of Hermione and Draco for me. He also took so many pictures of a time turner in various positions with his fancy camera for me. I used Affinity to remove the background from the time turner photos as well as to create the Typeset. There are 25 various time turners throughout the typeset. I used Canva to create the Cover and endpages.
I will say that my printers hate me now after printing this typeset multiple times. That was a challenge.

I feel like the luckiest girl this weekend that I am now the proud owner of a piece of pottery made by @dragon_otter . This is one of the loveliest things I have ever received 💜💜💜. For the #storytellerappreciationfest , we were lucky enough to both get @deathbytbrwrites as well as to get to work together to create binds for The Remix Universe. @deathbytbrwrites left most of the creativity up to us, but did say that NYC plays an important part in the fics.
The Remix Universe follows Hermione and Draco from the beginning of their relationship through thirty years of marriage. We get to see our beloved couple create their family, expand their found family, and share their life together. We get to see Scorpius grow up to be a good man and husband. Plus, the side pairings and original characters are on point! The Remix takes us through how our main couple get together, The B-Side shows us the next thirty years with them and their loved ones, and The Arias is a series of shorts featuring the cast throughout the years. We decided to use NYC as the overall theme and to give each fic a time of day since the series features so much of their lives. The Remix - the sunrise (beginning of their relationship), The B-Side - the daytime (the course of the next 30 years), and The Arias - the night.
We also want to give a huge shout out to @arangtriestodraw for not only letting us use so much of her art, but also drawing the perfect long haired Draco!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
The typesets, covers, and dust jackets were designed by both of us through collaboration. The drawings depicting NYC came from pngegg.com, cleanpng.com, Canva, and unsplash.com.
And lastly, we want to thank @rogue_roxy_writes and @brb.binding for hosting the #storytellerappreciationfest fest. Last post of the year! Here is my contribution to the #lfexchange2025 - The Eagle’s Nest by HeartOfAspen. Thank you so much to @avalonbookbindery and @pinkbowbindery for hosting such a fun exchange! This bind was made for @paperstopages - I am so glad it made it to you in time!
As soon as I saw this exchange, the image of the Lisa Frank unicorn in an alchemy circle popped into my mind. I knew I had to do this fic. I also keep thinking about the Lisa Frank sticker book I had as a child and wanted to make it look like it had stickers on it.
This bind definitely brought me back to childhood in the 90s and a much simpler time.
I sourced the Lisa Frank imagery and patterns from Etsy. Cover design by me using Canva. Runic elements are from Canva as well. Art by @elithienart Thank you to @procraftination_customs for her tutorial on how to do the Lisa Frank lettering.

Here is my contribution for the #empireinthestars exchange, hosted by the lovely @bmbookbinding and bound for @campfire.tales.bound - Breath Mints / Battle Scars by the immensely talented @onyx_and_elm

I read this fic early in my Dramione journey years ago and it has stayed with me. This fic cemented my love for not only toxic moody Draco, but for 8th year fics as well. I have gone back and reread this fic several times. It was also one of the first fics I bound. I had to have it on my shelf.
The assignment was to bind our Roman Empire themed to our zodiac sign. I’m a cancer, which is a water sign that has an affinity to the moon. So many of my favorite Dracos, especially this one, reminds me of a moody sea. I see grey blue waves crashing into a stormy sea. This is my homage to traumatized kids that need love and space.
This might be my favorite bind I did this year. I love how everything came together. All the elements on the cover and in the typeset came from Canva.

Now that this bind has made its way to the lovely @trubinds , I can share my contribution to The Debt of Time exchange hosted by the equally lovely @louies.librarybinds and @amandabynds .
What can I say about The Debt of Time that has not already been said? @shayalonnie wrote a masterpiece - a true god tier fic. So much of the fic lives in my head as canon now - the personalities of the marauders, the Potters and their home, the Blacks, Snape as a teenager, the first wizarding war. I don’t have words to express how much I love this fic.
I was lucky enough to win a commission from the talented @illustrationsbylyd in the Press the Patriarchy auction. I wanted an illustration of the pack in the forbidden forest as well as a time turner. She knocked it out of the park. I absolutely love it. I used the full illustration for the cover and the time turner throughout the typeset.
My first design was a disaster and we won’t speak of it. Suffice to say that it involved me having to cut the case off the textblock and redoing the case. So in my pivot, I did my first transparent dust jacket. I love how it turned out. This is also the first time I like how the soft touch laminate turned out. I used Techwrap htv, which is my absolute favorite. Lastly, I chose to do a bible typeset and fit it into one bind. If I could change anything about this bind, I would make the typeset prettier.
I don’t think I did this fic justice and have a vague plan to do a full five bind tribute to this fic in the future. I want to make it my piece de resistance.
