Someone recently asked me, “How do you make sure the food you serve at your supper club tastes exactly like back home?”

And the answer is, I DON’T. Why? Because, quite simply, it isn’t possible.

Home food is home food. There’s a certain magic in food cooked by your family that’s difficult to recreate. And then there’s the local produce. The same ingredient can taste so different back home. But what I serve? I try to get as close as I possibly can. :)

How do I do that? By finding the right ingredients from the right places.

Which is why I’m VERY HAPPY to share that @sbdspices and I have collaborated for my next few suppers! 🤍 @sbdspices is your one stop shop for high quality spices and products to make some truly lip smacking Indian food.

Of course, for that distinctly North Eastern touch, I still source ingredients like paanitenga, bamboo shoots, axone and a few other things from homeland that help me bring those familiar flavours to the table. But knowing that I can rely on a collaborator who puts quality first for the rest of my ingredients makes me genuinely happy.

And honestly, the most heartwarming part of this collaboration was something the wonderful folks behind SBD Spices told me: “You keep growing, we’re with you, we’re here to support you.”

Sometimes, it’s not just about the ingredients or the business. It’s about the people who believe in what you’re trying to build, who cheer you on and make the journey feel a little less lonely. That kind of kindness means more than I can put into words. 🫶🏻🤍

Picklad lime med chili – en indisk delikatess du inte vill missa!
Perfekt till curry och naan, men lika fantastisk på mackor, med kötträtter eller stekta grönsaker.
