Spooky Doings Social Club was one of those projects where I knew it was going to be a little different. They host gatherings in Lowell centered around the creepy and the strange. The challenge was figuring out how to bring some of that weirdness into the website without making it tacky or confusing.

We ended up having a lot of fun with the details and researching the photos. There’s even a card game that serves absolutely no practical purpose other than making the website feel more like Spooky Doings, and I think that’s part of what makes it work.
Underneath all of that, it still needed to be a functional event website. People need to understand what Spooky Doings is, see what’s happening next and how they can support.

This was also one of those projects where the clients trusted me enough to experiment and make some weird decisions along the way. Those are usually the projects where I end up doing some of my favorite work.
The finished site feels like you’re getting an introduction to the world of Spooky Doings before you ever show up to an event, which was exactly what we wanted.
