hellllooo and welcome to my little (food) world👇🏼

for anyone who doesn’t know me: my name is Anastasija (or Nastya, if you’re my family). I grew up in Minsk, Belarus and six years ago I moved to Austria. I studied geography at the University of Vienna, so in another life I’d probably be making maps or analysing human behaviour for a living. But a chain of choices and coincidences led me to Salzburg: until recently, I worked at MA MAKERS, following my lifelong passion - baking full-time and managing parts of the kitchen operations 🤩

Currently I am based between Austria and Germany, choosing the next place to keep learning, creating and growing as a baker and food explorer 👩🏼‍🍳

I studied geography because I’ve always been fascinated by places. Now I explore them through PASTRIES 🥐 I don’t really think of myself as a content creator tho as I’m simply living and documenting the joy I find in my everyday life (and food) which I am endlessly enthusiastic about as well as places, people and moments that inspire me along the way - hoping they’ll inspire you, too!

There is nothing I love more than eating the softest, BUTTERY cardamom bun at a place where craftsmanship comes looong before trends - with amazing specialty coffee, high quality ingredients and attention to all the details in food, hospitality or design.
Well, except maybe working at one :)

In a world full of viral recommendations and algorithms telling us where to go next, I want to help you discover places with soul. A viral pastry doesn’t always mean a great pastry. I love places created with a lot of attention and INTENTION, by people who genuinely care about what and how they create.

I’m here to share everything I know and everything I continue to learn along the way: where to find beautiful pastries, specialty coffee (or a good espresso martini), fresh bread and farmers’ produce. Thank you for following along - grateful to have this community of people who believe food is not just something we eat but one of the most beautiful ways to experience this world

so i guess the time has come to say goodbye to a place i’ve been jokingly calling home for a little more than two years now, @mamakerscafe👩🏼‍🍳

what started as a consequence of choices turned into a place where i got to live out my biggest passion, find true friends and joy in my everyday work. i’m grateful to have been part of the team almost from the beginning on, a lot of my personality went into shaping this place and a big bit of ma makers also shaped me along the way

and the most important - the cafe would never be the same without you, PEOPLE 💛 @nastyabnm and @marinareifenstein behind ma makers, everyone who worked on, in or with it, everyone who came by regularly and waved through the kitchen glass and those who just stopped by once on their trip. you made this time so incredibly special, loved seeing your smiling faces!

now it’s time for new beginnings because as someone once told me, sometimes one door has to close for others to open. i deeply wish ma makers and everyone involved so much success, happiness and many beautiful things (and cute doggos in cafe) ahead, big THANK YOU for everything we shared together, much much love to my favourite team and cardi bs 🥐☀️

really want to leave this mish mash of coffees i recently had in austria and bavaria in my feed

salzburg -> it’s been a few months since i quit @mamakerscafe and i still catch myself missing the people and the little everyday things. turns out, you can be ready for something new and still miss a little what you left behind ☀️

vienna -> @josephbrot in landstraße has reopened its doors after renovation and i’m in love with the new interior! the biggest highlight: the tiles on the wall, each one uniquely designed❣️ i also really love the wheat in the table vases and on the walls. tried a graumohn-powidl-buchtel with vanilla sauce from the new menu (also one of my favourite things to get at christmas markets) and yes yes YES, it hits the spot!!

nuremberg -> one of the biggest advantages of smaller cities: everything is so close! managed to squeeze in a coffee break during a one-hour stop - @sip.nue is very much recommended!

munich -> @kansocoffeelab’s filter coffee is amazing as always

landshut -> was cuuute and the town is pretty! coffee and cake at @aran_landshut

salzburg -> best coincidence: being in town on a thursday meant i could finally visit the schranne again after such a long time. went in wanting to take everything home (as always), but settled (as always) for @kaserei_hoeflmaier and @papipane

MINSK FOOD GUIDE (with coffeeshops being my fav thing) made by a local 🤍 haven’t seen a guide this comprehensive in english yet, so save it for your next trip and share with a friend ☺️

seeing my hometown experience a little tourism boom this year and hoping it’ll become more accessible for everyone in time, i’ll one day make a huge doc with all my tips for visiting belarus for the first time 🙌🏼
