After a very emotional week, we finally got to see Molly Tuttle, at the Historic Park Theatre in Cranston, RI, performing an uplifting concert with her band. Molly’s guitar playing is off the chart and with her outstanding backing band, ran through songs from her current album “So Long Little Miss Sunshine” and many songs from her back catalog. Molly ran the gamut of Bluegrass, Americana and Rock with effortlessly featuring her band and stellar vocals. A must see artist in concert. Photos/videos courtesy of Carole Saltz. This week has been a heartbreak. It’s taken me a few days to gather my thoughts since attending Caroline Bienstock’s memorial on Wednesday. I worked with Caroline & Freddy at Carlin America for 27 years. My interactions with her were multiple times a week and I will be forever grateful that she brought me into the company.

Caroline was an extraordinary woman. Complex, smart, funny and empathetic. When Freddy passed she took the bull by the horns and guided CA to new heights. She rose to the highest ranks of the music publishing industry and treated those that knew her with the utmost respect. This was our last photo at the Carlin America holiday luncheon in 2017. She will always be adorable. Rest easy, Caroline🙏❤️ by @scharf.steven

So thrilled to have SSE artist Intercooler’s song, “If I Try”, in the new horror film “River” from debut feature director Joshua Giuliano which will open Peter Kuplowsky’s late night thrills and spills showcase at the Toronto International Film Festival on Thursday, September 10th at midnight. This was the same slot that launched “Backrooms” and “Obesession”. The film stars Jane Levy, known for “Suburgatory” and “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playbook”. Big thanks to Mike Caroleo for making this happen! Listen here: www.stevenscharf.com by @scharf.steven

55 years ago tonight I was privileged to attend one of the greatest concerts in my lifetime. Billed as George Harrison & Friends a/k/a The Concert For Bangladesh at Madison Square Garden, The Concert featured an all star lineup with Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Leon Russell, Jesse Ed Davis, Bob Dylan, Billy Preston, Badfinger and a host of other great musicians including Marlin & Jeannie Greene with whom I just spent time at Muscle Shoals Sound in July. Ravi Shankar opened and was an organizer with George for this humanitarian event. I will never forget this amazing evening of music and the cause it inspired to help others. And the ticket cost $7.50!! by @scharf.steven

56 years ago, on Sunday June 7th, I got to see my all time favorite Rock & Roll band play the Metropolitan Opera House. The Who performed “Tommy” in its entirety with a set of classic Who songs after the album. What an iconic show! by @scharf.steven

Here’s my yearly post wishing Al Green a very Happy Birthday today. This photo was taken on opening night, June 3rd, 1976 at The Uris Theatre on Broadway with Ashford & Simpson opening a four night sold out run. I was privileged to be the only interview Al gave after the show when I was a writer for Cashbox Magazine! What an amazing talent and the hippest Reverend I ever met! by @scharf.steven

Remembering one of the great saxophonists of our generation on what would have been his 77th birthday. We lost Michael Brecker back in 2007, but his music still resonates forever in our hearts and minds. This is very personal for me since we met at Camp Onibar back in 1959 and maintained our friendship throughout our life and musical careers until his passing. Take some time and listen to his music. RIP dear Michael❤️ Photo courtesy of Matt Lilley. by @scharf.steven
