In Mulden is a knitted seating landscape of hollows and hills, a form which, when entered together, promotes closeness and encourages moving nearer to the people we love outside of the romantic context. An accompanying guide promotes open communication and supports the honest expression of needs and boundaries; because touch, too, requires a language that has to be learned. The work is an invitation to bring physical closeness back into everyday relationships: actively and with awareness. by @schiebska

„Wait a second“ plays with the limits of the functionality of furnishings. Textile manipulation gently unbalances familiar forms and functions, causing us to pause and open up new perspectives on everyday objects beyond internalized conventions. The oversized fur table creates a scale reminiscent of childhood and encourages a playful reencounter with this familiar object. by @schiebska

"Molding into the Fabric" verbindet die Geschichte und Ästhetik der ehemaligen Heeresschlachterei Berlin mit den Werken junger Künstler:innen aus Moabit und Wedding. Die multimediale Ausstellung macht die Stofflichkeit von Erinnerungen sichtbar und webt dabei eine neue Schicht in die Patina der Räume ein. Durch die Intersensorik der Werke wird ein Reaktionsraum geschaffen, in welchem Rezipierende mit den Werken und dem Raum interagieren und somit Teil der neuen (Ge)Schicht werden. Die Ausstellung kontrastriert dadurch mit den kunstbetrieblichen Eigenheiten von Distanz und Grenzen und stellt im Gesamtumfang einen Gegenentwurf zum Prinzip des “White Cubes” dar.

English Version:
"Molding into the Fabric" combines the history and aesthetics of a former Slaughterhouse with the works of young artists from Moabit and Wedding. Thereby the materiality of memories will become visible and a new layer will be woven into the patina of the spaces. The intersensory nature of the artworks creates a reaction space in which recipients are able to interact with the works and the space and thus become part of the new story-layer. Thus, the exhibition also contrasts with the art industry's inherent characteristics of distance and boundaries and, in its overall extent, represents a Counter-Design to the principle of the "White Cube". taken in KULTURFABRIK Moabit by @schiebska
