Last night, when the sun went down, the @hollywoodvampires rose!

No music gets deeper into my veins than 3 rock guitars and drums. Rock music rules forever. 🤘🏼

@alicecooper is a rock God
@joeperryofficial is a guitar God
@johnnydepp is…a rock guitar pirate.

I would still marry any Joe Perry guitar riff.

May the Vampires rise eternally!

Bucket list items checked off last night:
✅ hearing Joe play live again
✅ see Alice Cooper play the harmonica
✅ hearing Walk This Way live once more
✅ seeing three absolute icons together on stage

Their shows are a celebration of rock and its legends. And they do it for fun. I had a blast! Thanks for the birthday gift @kikakaessrin 🫶🏼

🌟Time for a legendary post. Because this is a legendary weekend. 🌟
We love to use that word excessively these days.
A legend, defined by Merriam-Webster, is: a person or thing that inspires legends. Hmmm. Okay. So what is THAT legend? MW says: a story coming down from the past.
And that’s why I chose the first slide. In the past, about 37 years ago, there was a little boy who obsessively loved The Little Mermaid. Not Ariel necessarily but her friends and that one song they sang. He loved it so much that he faked being sick to get the VHS before anyone else on a school day.
Little did the young boy know that one day he’d write the Disney songs for the next generation. The most successful Disney song of all times actually. He didn’t know he’d work with the people whose music and creativity he admired so much. That he’d get to collaborate with so many other legendary artists on his way through 5 Disney movies he’d write original music for. That Disney would become his “passport” that took him to many different countries and musical styles he didn’t really know before. And that they would even let him dance on street lamps in a beloved sequel.

And now, while surely not being done with Disney yet, he will become a Disney Legend. Be in the hall of fame of magic with the Greats. While we called his work legendary for years and I also named him Mr.Disney long ago - he will now be an official part of the magical legacy that are Disney Legends.

I hope the young boy inside of that Legend has the most wonderful day tomorrow, looking around and not really believing what happened. A legend to be told. Unforgettable songs for as long as music will live.

Congratulations, @lin_manuel - you really did this.
When you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are…

🔥🔥 The Weeknd live, Amsterdam 🔥🔥

I’ve seen a lot of shows. I expected him to be good. I didn’t expect him to shoot straight up there to the lead with Lady Gaga. Mind blown.

Yes, his voice is just as perfect live. No, he’s not an arrogant idiot - he’s actually a lovely and sweet man who’s still very much enjoying all this. (Even though Heartless is my favorite song. 🙃)
The show was perfectly choreographed but still felt real and spontaneous in parts. Enormous shoutout to those dancers (lovingly call them his handmaids) who are insanely good. And I am completely absorbed by that statue. (I have like 500 photos)

Most importantly: I’ve never seen a crowd quite like that (again, just at Gaga). The kids are singing, not screaming only. Huge improvement to our times with boy bands!

Best male entertainers alive, him and Bruno. Incredibly grateful we got to see them in the span of 2 weeks. Unforgettable experiences! ❤️‍🔥

Slide 5: watch her turn to face him!
Slide 13: absolute and complete escalation!

PS: damn, that man is a hottie…

🏎️SPA GP 2026.🏎️

Would I have ever gone to a F1 race myself? No.
Do I regret it? Also no.
I was sure we’d come back and be like “tv is nicer” but that’s absolutely not the case. The atmosphere, the sounds, the people - it’s a thing that has to be witnessed to be believed.
It brought me to my absolute limit physically (not the ears, the legs!) but that’s on me for picking the “wrong” track. But then again, it’s Spa, so…worth it! 🙌🏼
Best part was surely seeing the grin on my son’s face when those engines roared. And I’m extremely happy our favorite got in on second place. Leclerrrrrc! ❤️

(Btw, I’m no influencer so I don’t care at all if my reels are “done right” or catchy. I’m having fun with our memories, that’s all.)

We do a lot of crazy stuff. This was the craziest whirlwind so far. I’m definitely too old for this but sometimes things just happen and you go (fly/ride/dance) with it. Hoping some core memories were made. My heart loved every minute. My body hated me very much. 😂 This includes some of my favorite ever songs, artists, people, friends and places. And my son. Best ever. All for him. ❤️

⭐️⭐️⭐️Hamilton London, 4th of July 2026.⭐️⭐️⭐️
@leslieodomjr from the front row. Took the son and some friends and, boy, was it worth it. He is not repeating his performances. There were so many new moments from last year on Broadway. By now, honestly, he’s just having fun and PLAYING. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a true hustler. The elegance and power of his dance moves is still mind blowing. The fine lines of his voice, pure bliss. But damn, that acting. You don’t forget when Leslie prays in front of you. 🥹 I don’t think anyone else is allowed that much freedom on a Hamilton stage. But he earned it! And blesses us with his talent. Thank you, Leslie, forever. ❤️

But there was more. We have a wonderful new cast for this year in the West End - show flows! Hamilton is now an impressive singer and a fierce and cool Alex in @stephensononline . @shak_gw Laurens/Phillip is one of the best I’ve ever seen. I love our new Angelica @georginaa_o 🧡And that Lafayette/Jefferson by @ashleyjdaniels is a very special cool bomb of fun!
Big shoutout to @riccardohaerri . It was so beautiful to see one of our HamHam boys back on that stage.

There was no better way to celebrate the 250th of the great unfinished symphony. “We won!” punched the gut. Keep fighting, find new writers for this symphony cause she’s worth it!
As always, thank you @lin_manuel 🫶🏼

People keep asking me “which musical will they do this year?” and that leads to explaining what’s really special about the musical group at our school. All the stories are self-written and co-created by the students. Here’s my favorite scene from this year. You should get the gist, even in German. Setup: these two “strong men” were in a fight before this scene. (Set in prison)
The song was written by the music teacher the week before. Go figure.
Pride is not the word I’m looking for. But it’s the word I find. All of them, each member of the group works so hard and relentless. And they’re a family. The family got way smaller yesterday and there were many tears. But that’s life. The guy next to my son has been on stages with him for 8 years now. Bittersweet goodbyes.
I love them all and this is the highlight of the school year for all of us.

What’s a perfect theme park to you? Good rides? Speed? Food? Characters? I need all of the above and that extra pinch of seasoning. You know what it is? The possibility to forget the state of the world for a day.
The Efteling does that for me. Every time.

Coming home to some places, finding new bits every visit, having scents and tastes that make you feel like you’re just at the right place. At your theme park home. ♥️
This time we took newcomers and of course our professional park guides (more importantly friends) didn’t let us down. Thank you @drawnto.travel and @joostvp82 🫶🏼

Finally able to enjoy the new ride “Danse Macabre”. IT IS SO GOOD! (And the music is stuck in my brain indefinitely.)

See slide 6 to know how crazy I am for this place and how much I love my Pardoes (also see how annoyed my family was by me forcing them into the photo).
See slide 10 for a photo that was so unexpected it looks staged. 😂
And see slide 11 for a clear distinction between pros and “oops, wrong camera”.

Apropos pro: total pro move by me was putting on a poncho for the water ride (cause it was cold af) and then forgetting to put the hood back on after the photo op. Guess whose head got a FULL hit?! As my brother put it: “All this…for that!”

Harsh truth after 20k steps and a day of overriding my old body - today was a full-on couch potato Sunday. So worth it!

We’ll be back @efteling because the world needs a bit of miracles sometimes.

On my way back from a lovely trip to visit @schirin1111, I’m smiling about a weekend full of fun, friendship, and a challenge I definitely did not see coming.

@joostvp82 and Lisette (who is not on socials) gave Schirin and me a mission: to find the Bremen Town Musicians in real life. And of course, we took that challenge very seriously.

Challenge completed. ✨

Want to see how we did? You can find the vlog via the link in my bio at DTN Off the Track. If you want to see the challenge Joost send me follow me on Polarsteps.

Some of you have been waiting for it, so here’s the ranking of the son’s very personal and totally not objective COOKIE MONSTER CHALLENGE NYC.

It started as a choc chip cookie idea but in the end we had to rename it to chocolate cookie race because the actual winner is the Choco-Toffee-Cookie by @redgatebakery 🥇

We were trying for 12 in 6 days but there are two simple facts that left us with 8 contenders. 1) if you wanna do the whole cookie variety of NY, you can’t spend all day in theatres, it’s just too much traveling and 2) even my son reached his limit of loving chocolate cookies. 🙃 There was a whole system in place, judging density, presentation, and of course taste. Biggest differences he found was in taste and amount of chocolate. (Too much not necessarily being good.)

A word on prices. (Yes, mom, NY really is expensive!) Highest was 7$ at Funny Face (don’t go there if you don’t want the funny cookies) and the lowest was the winner with 4$. But mind you, these cookies are usually half a meal.

Notes:
⭐️ it’s important to know that my son doesn’t appreciate most dark chocolates, so that makes it quite different for someone like me
⭐️ if you go to the “hype” places, try not to do that on the weekend - queues are insane, we left one because their organization was horrible - Red Gate was the opposite, long line but excellent efficiency
⭐️ as I tried other tastes at these places, I wanna say that @schmackarys still has the most fun options (dying for their carrot cake), Glace was out of this world for me but that’s mostly because of the ice cream and Red Gate was all-over fabulous (I had the kitchen sinker)

And no shade to the other places because there wasn’t one bad cookie. Okay, there was one meh as you can see but I had a wonderful cookie at that same place.

Brooklyn bakeries next time because they seem to have some serious competition…
