On 9/9, school bus families will join @ta_teens to grieve the unfairness of an OMNY program that provides *some* students 1,460 rides per year on transit to the 5 boros, others 360 rides per year on a yellow bus, and NONE to those who reside near their school.
Students with disabilities in the short travel training pilot are denied a prepaid card to practice with -- until they remove yellow bus services completely, rather than having time to build skills and confidence in a more gradual transition.
The rules are 26 years old and do not reflect the existence of OMNY, let alone what the previous administration touted as OMNY for ALL public school students. See you at Tweed on Wednesday at 1:00.
