While in Rome, we spoke with José María Losa @kobwua_bwana, President of SCI Iberian Chapter and Vice President of the SCI European Committee, about two key priorities shaping the chapter’s work:

🔹 A major initiative to combat sarcoptic mange in Iberian ibex and other wildlife species, developed alongside Fundación Artemisan, with the ambition of creating a model with international impact.
🔹 New youth-focused initiatives in Spain, Italy, and Portugal designed to encourage engagement, exchange ideas, and support the next generation of conservation advocates.

As José María highlights, hunting is deeply connected to conservation, responsible wildlife management, and the values we pass on to future generations.
