You will never see this watch again

Created for a collector whose pursuit of horological excellence has led them to some of the finest timepieces ever made, this piece unique Laurent Ferrier Double Spiral Tourbillon is an extraordinary expression of individuality, craftsmanship, and understated luxury.

Its breathtaking custom Lapis Lazuli dial, with its deep celestial blue and naturally occurring golden inclusions, ensures that no other dial could ever be quite the same. Beneath it lies the mechanical poetry of Laurent Ferrier’s Double Spiral Tourbillon, a testament to the artistry and technical mastery of one of watchmaking’s most revered independent houses.

One watch. One collector. One of one. Not for sale.

In a collection where rarity is commonplace and the extraordinary is expected, it takes something truly remarkable to stand apart. Yet even amongst the world’s most important and coveted timepieces, this Laurent Ferrier holds its own.

A reminder that at the very highest level of watch collecting, true luxury is not simply possessing what others desire, but owning something that can never be replicated. taken in Shreve, Crump & Low by @sclwatchsalon

For those who appreciate the allure of a solid gold sports watch, but desire something beyond the familiar, the Breguet Marine offers a beautifully unconventional alternative.

Crafted in warm rose gold, with an intricately engraved dial, elegant Roman numerals, and a beautifully integrated bracelet, the Marine brings centuries of traditional watchmaking into a distinctly contemporary silhouette. An exercise in understated sophistication, where the romance of classical horology meets the presence of modern luxury.

A watch for the collector who understands that true distinction is rarely found in following the crowd. taken in Shreve, Crump & Low by @sclwatchsalon

🍾 Patek 5905/1A in olive green. đŸ«’

There is something undeniably captivating about the Patek Philippe Ref. 5905/1A. Its rich olive-green sunburst dial shifts effortlessly between deep forest tones and soft emerald hues, bringing an unexpected warmth to one of the manufacture’s most sophisticated contemporary designs.

Crafted entirely in stainless steel, the 5905/1A pairs the practicality of an annual calendar with the mechanical artistry of a flyback chronograph. Three elegantly arranged apertures display the day, date, and month, while a beautifully balanced 60-minute chronograph counter rests at six o’clock.

A marriage of technical excellence and understated elegance, the 5905 reminds us that true luxury need not announce itself. Sometimes, the smallest details make the greatest impression.

Some watches are rare by production. Others are rare by circumstance.

This early Laurent Ferrier Galet Square—now known as the Square Micro-Rotor—was produced as part of a limited edition of just 10 pieces for Chicago retailer Swiss Fine Timing. More remarkably, it is the only known Galet Square to have been executed with a black enamel dial, giving an already distinctive case architecture an unusually dramatic presence.

Presented in excellent to mint condition, this example is accompanied by its original Laurent Ferrier box, papers, and Certificate of Origin dated February 2022.

The limited edition has long since sold out and is no longer available through Laurent Ferrier authorized points of sale, making this a particularly compelling example from the maison’s earlier years—quiet, beautifully finished, and exceptionally difficult to encounter. taken in Shreve, Crump & Low by @sclwatchsalon

3 things only true collectors will notice
 🔍

1. The Tiffany & Co. Stamp — Patek Philippe’s historic relationship with Tiffany & Co. has produced some of the most coveted double-signed dials in watch collecting. A small stamp with enormous significance.

2. Greubel Forsey’s 30° Inclined Balance Wheel — It may look purely architectural, but the angle serves a technical purpose. By inclining the balance, Greubel Forsey aims to reduce the effects of gravity on timekeeping across different wrist positions.

3. Cartier’s Ruby Cabochon Crown — One of those details you could easily miss. Traditionally associated with Cartier’s platinum watches, the ruby cabochon is a subtle signal to the keen-eyed collector that the case is crafted in PT950 platinum.

Sometimes, the smallest details tell you the most.

Few complications feel as distinctly Patek Philippe as the perpetual calendar, but the Ref. 5236P presents it in an entirely new language.

Across the deep blue dial, the day, date, and month are displayed in a single elegant line — a deceptively simple presentation requiring an extraordinarily complex mechanism beneath. Housed in platinum, the watch balances technical ambition with the restraint that has defined Patek’s finest complicated pieces for generations.

A perpetual calendar designed not to shout, but to reward a closer look.

There is something especially fitting about the Czapek Antarctique Tourbillon in Glacial Blue.

Its icy dial shifts with the light, moving from soft silver-blue to deeper, colder tones, while the tourbillon brings a sense of motion and mechanical theatre to the composition. Paired with Czapek’s sculptural integrated bracelet and contemporary case design, it is a watch that feels both technical and remarkably elegant.

A modern sports watch elevated by one of watchmaking’s most celebrated complications.

If you could choose only one: Vacheron Constantin 222 or Audemars Piguet Royal Oak?

The Royal Oak arrived first. Introduced in 1972 and designed by Gérald Genta, it challenged nearly every convention of fine watchmaking at the time. A luxury watch in steel, defined by its octagonal bezel, exposed screws and integrated bracelet, it helped establish an entirely new category of watch: the luxury sports watch.

Five years later, Vacheron Constantin introduced the reference 222. Designed by Jörg Hysek and released in 1977 to mark the maison’s 222nd anniversary, the 222 took a distinctly different approach. Slimmer, quieter and perhaps slightly more elegant, its tonneau-shaped case and beautifully integrated bracelet gave it a character unmistakably its own.

Nearly fifty years later, both designs remain remarkably relevant.

The Royal Oak is architectural and immediately recognizable. The 222 is understated, refined and rewarding in the details. Two watches born from the same extraordinary era of Swiss watch design, yet representing two very different interpretations of sporting luxury.

So, which are you choosing?

Both the Vacheron Constantin 222 and Audemars Piguet Royal Oak are available now at Shreve, Crump & Low.
