So, I saw this movie today and I’m THOROUGHLY confused. . . Like. . . Why the hate?!?!? This movie is one of the best I’ve seen from Disney in a while and a wonderful movie in general!!! I particularly loved and appreciated @rachelzegler’s vulnerability and performance! She’s a master at making the story be king! Just goes to show that you should do your own research and not trust what you read. Today I read a post from someone dear to me in which they said that their heart was breaking because their life didn’t ‘fit the mold’ of someone that is able to ‘bask in the glow of God’s light’. I read that and my heart broke.

As I thought about it more, I came to the realization that I REALLY don’t like that phrase or idea of fitting the mold. This, of course, lead me to thinking about one of my favorite things, Jell-o, and how Jell-o always fits the mold it’s poured into, but yet does not get to decide how it wants to shape itself. It’s completely restricted by the form it’s poured into.

I then started thinking about what this mold is that we’re supposed to fit and so my mind went to Christ, since He’s the example we’re supposed to emulate, and I was immediately struck by the thought that Christ didn’t fit the mold of his time. Instead, he was a mold BREAKER! He took the ideas, teachings, social norms, etc. of the day and made people challenge those ideologies EVERY day.

I then got to thinking about Joseph Smith and the fact that he ALSO was a mold breaker. He BOLDLY claimed the truth of the heavens being opened again, that God hasn’t abandoned his children, and that priesthood keys have been restored. Joseph, and the early saints, worked tirelessly to break the mold and build the Kingdom of God.

Jell-o is delicious, but that’s kind of it. It doesn’t have any nutritional value. It doesn’t provide you with lasting strength or energy. In fact, the only thing it really does is fit a mold to perfection.

I don’t want to be Jell-o. I want to be the person that God has created me to be. I want to let others know that it’s the mold breakers that will change the world. I want to be one of those world changing mold breakers myself. I know that Christ will give me the knowledge, strength, guidance, and energy I need to become the person HE wants me to become, not anyone else. by @scott_sackett

This thought resonated with me SO much this morning! What DO we have to lose to change up the status quo? I would argue that most of the time we’re not willing to change our thought patterns or points of view is PURELY because it’s uncomfortable. That’s it. Next time you’re confronted with a point of view you don’t like, maybe don’t immediately dismiss it, but rather sit and ponder why. It could be life changing. by @scott_sackett

Look. . . I get it. . . There are a lot of reasons to not believe. There is currently a lot of hurt, pain, sorrow, confusion, loss, anger, and so on that just doesn’t quite make sense right now. Life is hard.

Here’s the thing, I have found that my life has been made INFINITELY better when I don’t try to figure it out on my own. I am thoroughly far from perfect and so why would I want to try to do this alone?

Folks, the Lord is REAL!!!! He actually DOES exist and wants desperately to be a part of our life! He loves us INFINITELY and PERFECTLY! We need to stop being stubborn and preventing Him from molding us into the people He wants us to be!

GUESS WHAT?!?!? It’s COMPLETELY acceptable to have questions and doubts! In fact, it’s WONDERFULLY MIRACULOUS to have those questions and doubts. It means we care!!! It means we want to find ways to connect more with the Lord! The problem is when we start to look for temporal answers to spiritual questions.

If we want to understand things that are spiritual in nature, then we need to seek those answers from spiritual sources!! I’m not going to learn very much about mitochondria being the powerhouse of the cell from an English class! The English class might give me the skills to more easily access the information about mitochondria, but if I want to ACTUALLY learn about it, I need to go to biology!

The same thing is true with the gospel. Temporal resources can HELP make sense of the things of Christ, but Christ can only truly be understood if we learn from Him directly.

Sorry this is long, but it’s something that has been on my mind a lot lately. I KNOW that God is real and that Christ’s atonement is there for EVERYONE! Hopefully this can help! Know that you ARE loved! Keep smiling! by @scott_sackett

A thought I had today. . . This year I’ve been trying (haven’t really been all that successful sometimes) to study the Doctrine and Covenants for my Come Follow Me scripture study. One thing that REALLY stood out to me today as I was pondering in Sacrament Meeting is the fact that almost EVERY section in the D&C was received because someone had a question that they took and asked God. The entire Restoration began because Joseph Smith had doubts and went and and for clarification and answers.

Why, then, do so many people today think that it’s inappropriate to ask questions when we have doubts or insecurities? When you are struggling with a concept of the gospel, when you have questions or doubts, when you are unsure, THAT IS OKAY!!!! Revelation doesn’t come because we’re just sitting around waiting for it to come! It comes because we are seeking answers!

I know that God is real and that he desires so greatly for us to be happy. He loves us and wants to answer any and all questions we have! My hope is that anyone reading this might remember that questions are what lead us to growth, light, truth, and power. Keep seeking, keep knocking, keep asking! The answers will come!!!! by @scott_sackett

I am in need of some help. I am not healthy and I don’t like it. I have done okay at working out in the past, but I eventually end up making excuses for myself and stopping. I am currently looking for someone who would be willing to work out with me and we can help each other stay motivated. I have a pass to the Orem Rec Center and would only be able to go at 5:30 am or 8:45 pm. If you can help, let me know!!!!!! by @scott_sackett
