Took some time off before sharing some pics from #SBC26. Wish I’d taken a few more selfies with friends I don’t see often enough. I’m honored and blessed to get to do what I do through @baptistpress, and incredibly proud to be part of such a great team. The day after getting back, drove with @awbarkley across the state to retrieve our youngest from @camppinnacle1947, where, of course, she had an incredible time, again, and is already looking forward to next summer. by @scottbarkley

It’s just a tea jug, until it isn’t.

This is my first Mother’s Day when I’m unable to call my mom, to ask how she is and, in this case, catch up on the Braves win over the Dodgers. I miss that voice; I really do.

The last month and five days since she went to heaven have made me try and appreciate moments. To be more conscious of the time we all have and make the most of it. I haven’t been as good as I want to be in that regard, even since then, but I’m working to be more cognizant of it. No matter how hard we try, it’s hard to appreciate those moments until they’re gone.

She was the perfect mom for me — encouraging, loving, always wanting the best for me.

When I was a kid, summers seemed so hot they seemed like a living, breathing entity just wearing you down. One way to get through them was drinking sweet tea out of this pitcher. I’ve never had better tea than what mom served in it. My brothers and I joked on who would get it. I guess I joked enough to the point that mom told me a few months ago to take it to with me.

In an effort to live a little healthier, I have used it for unsweet tea, as sacrilegious as that feels. Not today though. It’s nothing but the good stuff. by @scottbarkley

Whew! Quite a game last night for Jax State! Early in the fourth quarter I thought we were about to be shut out. Came back and got the lead, though (Started by our KICKER whalloping a guy on a return and causing the fumble!). Just couldn’t hold on. Tough team, that KSU. Congrats on the conference title. by @scottbarkley
