REST is experienced by receiving & giving encouragement to each other. Conflict drains energy, takes away positive thoughts and distracts from entering the manifest Presence of God where abundant provision is experienced.

Today is July 25 th & today’s REST Devotional Scripture Reading is the little letter of – Jude. Read this letter a couple of times in different translations.

Jude is writing with a heart of love to warn and encourage the believers in the 1st century to preserve.
As you observed yesterday from our sermon series of REST, Rest is experienced relationally as we engage with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to “encourage each other daily.”
Focus on Vs. 20–21 – “But you, dear friends, as you build yourselves up in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting expectantly for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life.”

Pause and Consider – “Keep yourself in the love of God” Picture a hot-sun-shinning day …. Where do you look to stand on such a day? In the shade to find relief from the heat. In this day of burning hot false teaching, we are exhorted to find relief ‘by keeeping ourselves in the love of God.’ This love is experienced daily by PAUSING (resting) in His Presence by meditating in His Word & prayer AND by genuine Biblical community.

Ask the Holy Spirit - WHO can you build up by words of encouragement, appreciation, or support?
Ask the Spirit to empower you to fill you with hope and express hope to a near one.

This was probably the most I’ve done in a month ever, but I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Apparently no one cares about my vehement beliefs that you don’t decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving, and the Georgia Baptist Building is now ready for all that Christmas cheer and stuff.

We had such a fun time celebrating Memorial Day last night. Having our backyard full of friends, food and laughter brings me such joy.

We had a great night tonight at the Fall dinner for all foster and adoptive families at Bartow Family Resources! We had so many wonderful people bring soup and chili for the adults, hot dogs for the kids and yummy desserts for everyone! We even had a sweet youth girls Sunday School class come and babysit all the kids, so the parents could have a nice quiet dinner! We couldn't get pictures of the kids, but they had a great time playing outside. Thank you to everyone who came and made tonight possible!
