I was able to tour the new Meridian Idaho LDS Temple with my parents today during the open house. It's a beautiful building overlooking the valley and Boise River. It is really exciting to see this temple built just minutes from where I grew up in the Boise area. What a beautiful blessing for the good people of the Meridian/Boise areas. One of my favorite rooms was the large sealing room (not pictured). Reminded me of my own wedding day with my Beautiful Mel and how grateful I am for her in my life and eternal families. #lds #ldstemples #meridiantemple #mormon #eternalfamily taken in Meridian Idaho Temple by @scottmontie

Awesome gig last night with the Kris Johnson and Mel Shore Quintet at Jazz at Lake Effect. Love me some good contemporary Jazz. Mad props to anyone who can figure out what time this song is played in - happy counting. This is a Kris Johnson composition called "Strength in Numbers." @krisjohnsonmusic @melshore #jazzatlakeeffect #jazz #contemporaryjazz by @scottmontie

What an incredible weekend. I had the privileged of hosting Broadway Playwright and Composer of "A Tale of Two Cities," Jill Santoriello, at our production of her musical and a public Q&A session at @centerpointtheatre . Jill is as gracious and lovely as she is talented. It was an absolute thrill and privilege for all of us involved to have her visit. I have to thank my wonderful friends at Hale West Valley who introduced Jill and I last spring. This has been one of the most amazing projects I have ever been involved in and I'm incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to direct this beautiful story that teaches and inspires us to forgive, to love, and to be better people. This music is gorgeous and the lyrics are so perfect. The show runs through the end of the week and there are still some tickets left. Don't miss out. I'm so proud of this cast that never gave up and worked harder than any group of people I know. All those very long tech days paid off!! Thank you Jill for this outstanding show and for the memory of a lifetime for all of us. @jillsantoriello cptutah.org #cptutah #ataleoftwocities #musictheater #theater photo credit @hollykreid and @pepperfoxphoto taken in CenterPoint Theatre by @scottmontie

This might be my new favorite picture. Behold Marilyn Montgomery and Marilyn Montgomery. Marilyn May is my creative collaborator, choreographer, friend and partner in crime. Couldn't have done Tale of Two Cities without her. Marilyn Kay is my biggest fan, my constant supporter and believer, and my mother (the source of my musical talents and creativity). I'm very grateful for these two amazing and wonderful women. Everyone should have a Marilyn in their lives. @marilynkmontgomery #creativewomen taken in CenterPoint Theatre by @scottmontie

So glad my amazing wife dragged me out of bed early Wednesday morning to enjoy and tackle this beautiful hike with her up Neff's Canyon. I love her zest for life and her adventurous spirit. Three miles uphill and three miles downhill. Utah is beautiful this time of year. @melshore #adventureswithmel #optoutside #millcreekcanyon #fallcolor #utah #aclrecovery #kneeinjuriessuck #morninghike taken in Neffs Canyon Trail by @scottmontie

Happy Birthday to my dear friend @misshollyjojo ! Over the weekend we opened our 4th show together. She is one of my very favorite humans and we've been there for each other through some tough times. Not only is she a beautiful person, she's one of the kindest and giving people I know. To top it off she's a phenomenal performer with a voice of gold and the most humble person I've ever directed and worked with. She's performed as a leading woman on Broadway and toured nationally, yet she will be the last person to tell you that. She has the gift of being able to share her soul and goodness with others through her music. So grateful to call her my friend. Come see her command the stage as Madame Defarge in A Tale of Two Cities. She's mesmerizing! @centerpointtheatre Tuesday Thursday Saturday. Happy Birthday HoJo!! by @scottmontie

Tonight is the culmination of almost a year's work as we open this stunning production of Charles Dickens' classic story, "A Tale of Two Cities." Beautifully and masterfully created for the stage by playwright and composer Jill Santoriello, this isn't a show to miss. The talent is off the charts but the story will challenge how you see the world around you and leave you wanting to be a better person. It is a Tale of forgiveness, love, redemption, and rebirth. I'm incredibly humbled to have directed this piece. It has been the biggest yet most rewarding challenge I've tackled on stage. It has made me a better person. Thank you to the wonderful cast, crew, and production team for the life you have breathed into this incredible story. Standby top of show! 14 hour tech rehearsal this last Saturday. 11 hours the Saturday before, 5 hours nightly last week, and countless hours of prep work and planning. This is the most challenging show I've ever put up onstage. It's going to be stunning. We often overlook as an audience how many man hours it takes to create this kind of living art. In addition to actors, directors, choreographers, their are countless designers, craftsmen, technicians, musicians, engineers, and support staff working behind the scenes, building, creating, sewing, programming, and coordinating people, to make it all come together. Shout out to my entire cast and production team as we enter our final week of rehearsals before we share this amazing story "A Tale of Two Cities" with an audience. Thank you @emilychecketts Marilyn May Montgomery @marcie.jacobsen @kristadavies Scott VanDyke @supertam_ @atticusgal @cynthiaklumppartist , and Seth Miller. Thank you @stagewritesoftware and @jeffwhitingnyc for creating your genius software which has been invaluable in putting this enormous puzzle together. #livetheatre #performingarts #musical #theater #techrehearsal #stagewritesoftware #cptutah #ataleoftwocities taken in CenterPoint Theatre by @scottmontie

Just a typical night at our place. Mel working on her show/project, lost in her orchestrations, and me working on my show. She's orchestrating and I'm prepping tech week for A Tale of Two Cities. @melshore #adventureswithmel #showfamily taken in Daybreak by @scottmontie

Birthday Weekend in Southern California with visit to Laguna Beach and Oceanside Beach. Woke up this morning to the beautiful sights of Hotel del Coronado and it's amazing beach. Finished our trip with breakfast on beachside with @melshore before heading to the airport and back to real life. Not a bad way to start the day. #coronadobeach #hoteldelcoronado #sandiego #lagunabeach #birthday #adventureswithmel #beachlife taken in Hotel del Coronado by @scottmontie
