I was thinking the other night while lying in bed that i should probably start taking life a bit more seriously… and then i remembered that we’re all just specs on a rock floating in a void so large that we cant even comprehend it. and that we all just end up dead anyways. so you might as well just do whatever you want. ❤️

Brent and I had a fun adventure climbing the Matterhorn yesterday. We were both pretty unsure about whether we’d be able to make it up since the info online makes it sound quite intense without a guide. but we just decided to go until we both felt uncomfortable and then turn around… although i think we were both pretty outside our comfort zones, we made it to the top. 10.5 hours hut to summit and back to the hut. Not the fastest time, but the route finding is quite hard especially on the way back down. and getting off route is the biggest hazard of the mountain.

4000ft/1300M of mostly sustained 4th class with sections of 5th class up to what we thought felt around 5.6… the last 1000ft/350M with crampons on snow/ice/rock. It was pretty intense and felt close to my limit of comfort as i haven’t really done much mixed terrain like that. We simuled climbed the entire route up and also back down but there were often long sections without pro which made it pretty heads up. Anyways. fun times. glad we were able to make it happen. taken in Zermatt, Switzerland by @scottstevnson

Chimborazo - 20,548ft | 6263m

My first time above 20k and 6k :-)

Doing chimbo was the main goal of my trip to ecuador and after 3.5 weeks of prep i’m happy i was able to make it happen. super grateful for the health, job, and opportunity to be able to do something like this. I know it’s a privilege. ❤️

had such an amazing trip in the eastern hemisphere. spent time with and met some awesome people! it was great to meet/see everyone and i hope to see you again! I found this app that makes a cool trip summary video.

i ended up spending about 11 weeks in spain climbing and traveling through andalucía and then up the costa blanca and eventually to barcelona. a big portion of it spent with @betterbrent

i flew up to Paris to spend time with @raftingphantasy and her partner.

then flew to morocco for 2 weeks and drove a big loop with @betterbrent through the country seeing the atlas mountains and the sahara desert and climbed in a few cools spots.

then to rome for a 5 days and then istanbul for a week.

i fly to bogotá today and that will put me in 5 different continents in almost 4 months :-) gonna spend the next 8-10 weeks there and in guatemala taking spanish classes and trying to do a full spanish immersion. asi que vamos a ver cómo va!

not sure how i ended up being able to do this extended trip but im super grateful that my job is so cool and flexible!!

anyways. just a reminder with all the bad news out there:

Healing takes a really long time and it certainly is not linear. blame and feeling sorry for yourself don’t make your life any better either, but i also think when your broken you are selfish, and subconsciously, you make poor choices that damage yourself and hurt others. i’m not perfect and the broken version of myself wasn’t my favorite me.

but i will also say, when you finally find a place of happiness and joy and love for yourself, it creates the opposite experiences… where you make more meaningful connections and experiences and treat people and yourself well and you listen intently and communicate deeply and are more empathetic, understanding and kind.

I don’t know what i’m saying but im just psyched to be actually feeling like im living my life again and doing things that make me happy and improve myself as a person…and to not look in the mirror anymore and constantly think “what the f**k is wrong with this person”.

I guess i’m just glad i took the time to get to where i am right now even though it was really hard. it’s nice to see photos of myself looking genuinely happy. so i thought i would share a few. :-) by @scottstevnson

In 2025 i rediscovered the version of myself i thought i lost a while back. i had a feeling he was still in there somewhere but a few years ago i wasn’t so sure. glad to be living the best version of my life again! thanks to everyone who i shared moments with this year! love you all ❤️

Started the year with a few months in Mexico. Spent a week in Smith Rock in June, a month in Tensleep in July, a few weeks in Squamish in August, and all of December in Spain. With a few other places sprinkled in along the way. And spent a lot of time in Utah! Climbing with friends is fun ☺️!

Climbed 450 pitches outside. Sent my first .12c, 10 .12b’s, and 18 .12a’s. taken in El Chorro by @scottstevnson
