Birthday week in Madagascar! My actual birthday was a tough day at work, so I decided to make it a birthday week!
And despite a bit of an emotional rollercoaster the end of the week has been amazing & definitely redeemed itself! I’m blessed to be in the place I love surrounded by wonderful people. Just missing some loved ones a lot!!

It’s been a busy week here on the Africa Mercy! Bachata dancing on the dock, surgeon consultation days with our kids. Working with Dr Payam again, & Rianne! On Tuesday we started the Paediatric block in the Operating Theatre (room). OR hallway meetings & my 2 favourite anaesthetic girls! 🫶🏼 The ship by day & by night. I’m heading back to the Global Mercy for 3-5 months in November. I’ll be working with the Eye Team in Freetown, Sierra Leone. I’m raising money towards travel costs. This girl @dijahtimah and her friendship mean so much to me. She started as a colleague but has become so much more! A great friend and sister. Inviting me to meet her family and helping in more ways than I can say. From translating for me when I need to book a restaurant and taking me to the market!
