The Santa Clarita Symphony Orchestra has been working to bring an innovative and collaborative music experience to our community since 2022! Consisting of local musicians of all levels, SCSO puts on performances every season that are inspiring, electric and evident of their hard work behind the scenes.

Santa Clarita Symphony Orchestra opens their 2026-2027 season on Oct 11. They will present the west coast premier of The American Experiment written by Disney and Lucasfilm composer David Glen Russell for America’s 250th birthday, and last year’s grand prize winner of the young soloist competition Sora Corro will dazzle you with Grieg’s beautiful Piano Concerto.

🎟️ This is the last weekend for $30 tickets!

Join us Sunday, October 11 at 4 PM at Hart High School for Voices of the People — an afternoon of music exploring community, identity, and the voices that shape our shared experience.

Starting Monday, the price increases to $35, so purchase this weekend to save.

$10 Student Rush tickets will be available at the door beginning one hour before the concert, subject to availability.

The program features the West Coast premiere of David Russell Glen’s The American Experiment, Sora Corro performing Grieg’s Piano Concerto, and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Russian Easter Overture.

Join SCSO musicians after the concert at Pocock Brewing Public House from 6–9 PM. Show your digital concert ticket, and 12.5% of your food and beverage purchase will be donated to SCSO.

From a galaxy far, far away… to the Santa Clarita Symphony Orchestra. ✨

Award-winning composer David Glen Russell has built a career spanning film, television, and interactive media, combining rich orchestration and thematic writing with a deep foundation in classical music.

Fans of Star Wars may already know his music: Russell has written hundreds of cues for Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars: The Bad Batch, and Ahsoka. His career has also included collaborations with composers including Danny Elfman, Christopher Young, and Gustavo Santaolalla, with work connected to films including Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Spider-man 3.

This October, we're excited to bring Russell's music to the concert hall with the West Coast premiere of The American Experiment, featuring Santa Clarita City Councilmember Bill Miranda as narrator.

A revolution. A declaration. An experiment that continues today.

This October, the Santa Clarita Symphony Orchestra presents the West Coast premiere of The American Experiment by David Glen Russell.

Originally inspired by music Russell composed for the film Choosing to be an American People, this three-movement work traces the journey toward American independence - from the Colonies’ growing desire for liberty, through the battles at Concord Bridge and Bunker Hill, to the Declaration of Independence.
In the final movement, orchestra and narration come together, weaving excerpts from the Declaration with words from George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Paine, reflecting on both the hopes and challenges of maintaining a free country.

Joining SCSO as narrator will be Santa Clarita Councilmember Bill Miranda.

Meet our featured soloist, Sora Corro!

Last season, Sora earned the Grand Prize in the Santa Clarita Symphony Orchestra's Young Soloist Competition. On October 11, she returns to the stage with SCSO to perform all three movements of Grieg's beloved Piano Concerto in A minor.

Sora began studying piano at just two years old and has since earned top honors in competitions across the country. She is also a recipient of the National Chopin Foundation Scholarship for 2025–26 and has participated in programs including Music@Menlo, the Southeastern Piano Festival, and Juilliard's Summer Music Program.

Hear this remarkable young pianist perform with the Santa Clarita Symphony Orchestra at Voices of the People.
