Kranteknisk Forening recently launched the new identity and positioning we created for them, as a leading voice for quality and safety in the lifting industry in Norway.

The goal was ambitious but necessary: transform KTF's image from a niche "boys' club for crane enthusiasts" into a universal, inclusive stamp of quality and safety. We needed to look beyond the heavy machinery and focus on the human element.

For a brand centered around heavy lifting, we knew the identity had to be anchored in motion. Here is how we brought the concept to life:

– The core of the new strategy is anchored in the tagline "Et løfte om trygghet" (A promise of safety / A safe lift). This concept bridges the gap between the physical act of lifting and the emotional reassurance of industry safety and is emphasised by a type animation that dynamically lifts words into place.

– The new logo doubles as a mechanical gear and a guiding star. In digital spaces, it physically rotates to safely hoist and lower the brand's letters, perfectly mirroring the power and precision of the industry.

– To move away from cold, industrial stereotypes, we introduced a warm, muted color palette featuring off-whites, soft yellows, and oranges. Paired with modern serif typography, the visual identity now feels open, empathetic, and human.

– The new photography style also steps away from just focusing on metal and steel. Instead, it puts the spotlight directly on the diverse people behind the machines, capturing both technical control and a relatable, everyday presence.

In the end, this holistic rethink of the KTF brand really aimed to reflect their ultimate goal of zero lifting accidents through better engagement and reach of their core audiences. taken in Oslo, Norway by @sdgoslo

Can a tiny zooplankton change neutraceuticals? Zooca certainly thinks so.

We worked closely with the team at Zooca to translate their sustainable, planet-first zooplancton-based supplements into a premium brand identity, packaging, and digital experience. And to match their philosophy, we crafted a brand system full of personality, complete with lightweight, perfectly optimized animated illustrations that keep the brand's digital footprint as clean as the Norwegian sea.

From the shelf to the screen, everything was designed to celebrate health without harming the earth – proof that sometimes, the biggest breakthroughs come from the smallest creatures. taken in Oslo, Norway by @sdgoslo

Move over, Glastonbury! With the festival season well underway, it's time we repost the work we did for Matstreif, a food festival where the real rock stars are the local food producers. 👩‍🌾🔥

Our identity for Matstreif took inspiration from music festival culture to transform a traditional food market into a sensory-heavy, energetic event filled with life and humor and energy. We kneaded out a custom variable typeface called Smaks Sans (Sans of Taste) that stretches from extremely narrow to super wide, cooked up a library of whimsical onomatopoeias, and used documentary-esque photography to put the producers center stage.

It was a blast to create, and a reminder that good design is all about the right ingredients. taken in Oslo, Norway by @sdgoslo

The World Cup started yesterday and the excitement here in Norway is palpable!

For us, it's an amazing reminder of how we partnered with NFF a few years back to evolve the Norwegian national team's crest into something with real personality, and a healthy dose of "råskap" (ruggedness, in Norwegian). Moving past basic flag-and-color branding, our redesign modernized the old monogram and introduced a fierce, double-lion crest rooted in the country’s 1910s football heritage. The emblem itself is designed to give actual substance to the local expression «to play with the flag on your chest», a sentiment definitely emphasised by Nike's designs for the 2026 jersey.

So, while we can't take credit for Erling Haaland’s goals, we can take some credit for ensuring the team looks incredibly sharp while scoring them, and as the boys step out onto the pitch in North America this coming week, we're proud to know our design is right there on their chests, 28 years after the national team last participation to a World Cup.

Let’s go boys, make us proud. Heia Norge! 🇳🇴🦁 taken in Greensboro, North Carolina by @sdgoslo

Modernizing a giant: How we gave Innovasjon Norge a visual upgrade built for the digital age. 🤖🔴

Instead of a radical, scary overhaul, we leaned into smart, intentional evolution. We gave the iconic logo a subtle facelift, engineered a completely refreshed digital design system, and built an extensive custom illustration and icon style. To tie it all together, we wrapped the entire identity into an interactive, user-friendly brand center that keeps their complex organization perfectly aligned.

The execution was rolled out gradually, proving that major institutional design can be both highly functional and beautifully modern. taken in Oslo, Norway by @sdgoslo

“Allir geta trúað á sinn hátt.” (Practice faith in your own way).

A millennium ago, Iceland’s transition from Norse gods to Christianity took centuries of deep tolerance. We revived that uniquely Icelandic history of personal faith to solve our biggest challenge for the National Church of Iceland: how do you get a modern, digital-first society to actively engage with a religious institution? Our answer was a bespoke, interactive online cross builder. We commissioned Icelandic illustrator Elín Edda to create 18 semi-abstract icons representing core Christian virtues, inspired by traditional stained-glass windows. The digital platform allows anyone to build their own cross, representing what faith means to them. The response was overwhelming. Over 2,500 unique crosses were generated and shared in the first week alone. By shifting the Church's tone from a formal monologue to a personal conversation, the identity easily scales down to the local congregation level. And the real-world impact? 2026 marks the first year of donation growth since 2010, baptisms are rebounding, younger audiences are engaging with the new symbols, and the Bishop herself is even getting her custom cross tattooed. 🕊️📱

You can’t really rebrand a religion. But you can reimagine how a nation connects with it, and that's exactly what we've done by helping the National Church of Iceland launch their new identity. When the Bishop challenged us to bring the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Iceland into a new era, the brief was monumental: reverse a decade of disconnect and visually position the Church as a "loving voice in society"—without alienating its core heritage.

Our solution lived in the tension between the ancient and the modern. We developed a visual identity that embraces this duality: a primary color palette rooted in traditional liturgy, disrupted by fresh, bright accents. A custom typographic system mixing 12th-century calligraphic ligatures with bold, modern strokes. And tying it all together: a dynamic, modular grid system based on the opposing axes of the Christian cross, allowing the brand to live and breathe in endless bespoke layouts.

In our 40-year history, we’ve designed almost everything... But it's not every day you get to design for a higher calling. Thanks to Þjóðkirkjan to let us experience design through a different lens – designing by virtue rather than value.

Precision in every degree. 💡

For Kelvin, we developed a design system that bridges the gap between advanced technology and functional aesthetics. The brand identity is rooted in the science of light—taking inspiration from how white balance is measured through the term kelvin and the degree symbol (°), and that concept lives freely not only through the brand identity and its assets, but through the user experience as well, with an interface that seamlessly merges both scientific and minimalist-looking interactions.

The result is a technical yet timeless expression that doesn’t just represent a product, but a unit of measurement for quality. taken in Oslo, Norway by @sdgoslo

Following their acquisition by DNV, we partnered with the MBI Health team to redefine their brand positioning and identity 🏥 ✨.

Our mission? Create a "no-nonsense" personality for a brand tackling one of the NHS’s biggest challenges: optimizing patient pathways for over 50 million people in the UK.

Our Approach: Right Time. Right Place. Right Treatment.
This new direction allowed us to create targeted, impactful messaging for MBI’s three core audiences: the trusts managing hospitals, the clinicians relying on accurate data, the patients wanting care as early as possible.

The Visual Identity:
Dynamic Gradients: An ever-present color shift that dramatizes the brand’s straight-talking behavior—moving from lively orange-pink for mission-driven talk to purple-blue when highlighting their AI powerhouses, Luna and Rova.

Typographic Contrast: A unique combination of butterfly serif and grotesk fonts, paired with UI elements to ensure messaging feels at home in both print and digital spaces.

Abstract Illustration: A seamless line style that dramatizes the patient journey, using blur effects to represent the real-world challenges of data transparency and the unknown.

By blending these elements, we’ve positioned MBI Health as Healthcare’s Data-Health Specialists, ready to future-proof the industry. taken in London, United Kingdom by @sdgoslo

Our second project from the sdg vault 🗃️: With spring coming up and everyone's social agenda starting to fill up, we thought to bring back Checkin into the spotlight. 🔦

The identity was designed in 2022 as a category breaker, aiming to change the perception of what an event registration system can look (and sound) like. While competitors seemed to focus on simplifying the registration process, Checkin placed its bet on creating a vocal and participatory brand, whose cheeky tone of voice and humourous illustrations resonated brilliantly with registrants and registrees alike. ✌️

🎨 The palette – revolving around a daring pink – helps support the unapologetic brand universe and turn it into a statement of its own.

Needless to say, as one of our all-time favourite, we think Checkin is a great example to show what brand personality can do for your business: following the rebrand, Checkin experienced a steady growth, even doubling its 2022 revenue in 2025. 📈🚀 taken in Oslo, Norway by @sdgoslo

Modernizing a Norwegian Icon: Møbelringen 🇳🇴

We’ve been hard at work elevating the digital home of Møbelringen, one of Norway’s most beloved furniture chains. The goal? Create a seamless omni-channel experience that bridges the gap between the web and the physical showroom.🪑

The Strategy:

🚙 Drive to Store: Using the online platform to inspire customers to visit and test furniture in person.

🙌 Intuitive UX/UI: Implementing a clear information hierarchy and simplified navigation for a stress-free shopping journey.

⭐️ Richer Content: Larger, high-quality imagery and varied layouts that showcase every detail of the pieces you love.

♟️Logistics Transparency: Overcoming complex data challenges to provide accurate, real-time info on stock, delivery, and returns.

By following e-commerce best practices and universal design, we’ve created a digital storefront that doesn’t just sell furniture, but inspires a lifestyle. taken in Oslo, Norway by @sdgoslo

Our first project from the vault 🗃️ should be a landmark project, and for us the Norsk Helsenett identity, designed between 2020 and 2021, is about just that.

Norsk Helsenett is a secure digital arena for the Norwegian health sector that was built on a serious promise; to safely unite and connect the entirety of health services in Norway. 🇳🇴

The identity is designed around their social mission as a catalyst, activator and interactor, resulting in the concept of "connections" that is implemented throughout the entire design system through dynamic compositions. This, in turn, helped lead the brand into a constant evolutive state without compromising on consistency. 🫶 taken in Oslo, Norway by @sdgoslo
