Before it was S&D, this corner of McKinney Avenue was home to Dallas’ historic McNab Grocery in the early 1900s.
In 1976, Herb and Mary Kay Story transformed it into S&D Oyster Company, bringing the flavors of the Gulf Coast home to Dallas and naming the restaurant after their children, Stephanie and Doak. Nearly five decades later, that same spirit lives on under the Bellomy family - regulars turned owners who now carry its legacy forward.

For five decades, this little spot on McKinney Avenue has been shaped by the people who walk through the door. We’re proud of the legacy, grateful for every memory made here, and very ready to celebrate with you.
