Featuring rare prints, small editions and one-of-a-kind works from Frank Ferguson’s mail art and zine archive, the exhibition traces how artists used informal networks to share information, bypass censorship and offer solidarity—a story that feels especially relevant today.

The exhibition also includes a printmaking workshop, a concert featuring music from the mail art network, a film screening and an open call for mail art. Create a 4-by-5-inch postcard and mail it to the gallery by Dec. 30 to participate.

Congratulations to Mark Siprut, associate professor of multimedia in SDSU’s School of Art and Design, whose artwork Robert’s Cottages, Oceanside has been selected for In Flux: OMA Artist Alliance at Covet Gallery.

The exhibition explores movement, transformation and uncertainty through shifting materials and ideas. Siprut’s work reflects his interest in the relationship between place, history and the built environment, capturing Oceanside’s changing coastline through its enduring beach cottages.

You can visit the exhibition through Oct. 31 at Covet Gallery, 1922 South Coast Highway, Oceanside. Learn more at the link in our Instagram bio!

Congratulations Kerianne Quick!
SDSU School of Art and Design professor Kerianne Quick brings the provocative exhibition, OH WELL, WHATEVER, NEVERMIND, to Brooklyn Metal Works this fall. Through body armor-inspired jewelry, titanium crosshair pins and black-shrouded mirrors, Quick confronts the machinery of violence—and the apathy that allows it to become ordinary. The works ask what it means to protect and repair the body in a culture that manufactures its destruction—and what it means to look away.

A nationally recognized craftsperson and curator, Quick is a professor of jewelry and metalwork at SDSU whose work is held in major museum collections across the United States and Europe.
The exhibition opens Saturday, Sept. 26, with a free public reception from 7-9 p.m. at Brooklyn Metal Works.
