In this class we will revisit the main building blocks of your memoir as well as hone the essential skill sets needed to complete your first draft. We will pay special attention to your structure, character arc and scene writing. We will also cover How to Write a Book Proposal in the last session of the class. Since the former sessions work on learning individual skill sets (think one melody at a time), this class is vital to assist the writer in learning how to use all of the skill sets at once for a first draft (think symphony). https://writeyourstorynow.org/certificates-wrkshps/2026-09-05-memoir-v-with-marni-freedman-and-tracy-j-jones/#writingcommunity #sandiegowritersink #sdwf by @sdwritersfest

Congratulations, @irena.smith 🎉 The 2026 SDWF may be over, but our speakers are still popping up in the news!

Irena’s new book, Troika, is out next week on Tuesday, April 7. Pick it up wherever books are sold and tell them the San Diego Writers Festival sent you :)

Still glowing after presenting at the San Diego Writers Festival! We enjoyed witty and wise speakers, accomplished and aspiring authors, multiple genres, and stimulating workshops. Coronado Public Library bathed in gorgeous sunlight, hosted the seventh year of this free to the public festival. Books enliven and enlighten us all. #writingcommunity #frazzlebrain #books by @sdwritersfest
