This past week has been nothing short of devastating—but also deeply inspiring as we’ve witnessed the incredible ways our community has stepped up to help.

We’ve mapped out our vision for contributing to this effort is broken into three phases, with Phase 1 nearing completion in the coming days:
- Phase 1: Animal Search and Rescue
- Phase 2: Shelter Pulls and Community Support
- Phase 3: Rehabilitation

The first half of this week was chaotic as we worked with @animalhopeandwellness and @melsobo to respond to urgent calls about animals left behind. Tragically, the second half brought overwhelming death and destruction, including the heartbreaking task of relaying difficult news to families about their beloved animals. Despite the devastation, we’ve successfully helped place displaced animals in temporary foster homes, including tortoises, chickens, roosters, pigs, dogs, fish, and cats.

As we all know, the effects of this fire will extend far beyond the immediate weeks ahead.

As our community rebuilds, we are committed to continuing to help in the best way we know how—by pulling dogs from local shelters to prepare for the ripple effects of this tragedy. With fosters unable to keep their animals and displaced families forced to make heartbreaking decisions, the shelter system will be stretched even further.

This is a marathon, not a sprint. Your donations TODAY are critical to keeping us going in the months ahead as we navigate these challenges together 🙏

Thank you for standing with us, offering your time, resources, and support, and for proving that even in the darkest moments, this community’s light shines so bright 💛

There was one time where you went to say hey and Seana at the same time and “Shay” was born. I hated that nickname but it didn’t stop you from calling me that every single time we spoke up until a few years ago when we lost touch. We were kids when we fell in love and it was messy and irrational and dramatic. Oh man the DRAMA. But we grew up together and had each others backs through it all. It was us against the world and I am who I am today because you believed in me. People grow up and change and move on but you never forget your first love. And mine was a very special first love. I am so sad to have lost such a dear and sweet and tremendous soul. I will miss you R. And thank you for introducing me to all of the amazing music including Taj Mahal. You getting his autograph and framing it for me back in 1997 clearly didn’t go unnoticed. I still have it…even though it says it’s to “Shay” 😘 #RobertStevenAllen by @seanafern

New York never disappoints (and always makes me want to move back but Dave says NO). Thank you @phish for creating these opportunities (and thank you for waiting for me for lizards). I’ll never forget this trip. taken in Phish @ Madison Square Garden by @seanafern
