Please help us welcome @seanplaystrumpet to the Texas Wesleyan Trumpet Studio!

Sean will be joining TxWes in the Fall of 2026 on a full tuition scholarship.

Before he joins us on campus, Sean will present his sophomore trumpet recital, “Dawn,” on Tuesday, June 16th at 7 PM in the TCC NE Theater, featuring works by Haydn, Hindemith, Montbrun, and Wallin.

Sean Chavez is a highly active trumpet player and music educator based in North Richland Hills, Texas. A 2023 graduate of Richland High School, Sean continued his studies at Tarrant County College, where he has performed in jazz, wind, and chamber ensembles and held roles including lead trumpet, principal trumpet, soloist, and student director.

Outside of school, Sean serves as principal trumpet and an executive member of the North Texas Symphony Orchestra under the direction of John Porter. At age 19, he was invited to serve as Artistic Director of the North Texas Symphony Jazz Orchestra, where he combines his passion for jazz with education and community outreach.

Sean will continue his studies in the Fall of 2026 at Texas Wesleyan University on a full tuition scholarship, studying trumpet with Cody McClarty, Assistant Principal Trumpet of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.

You really don’t want to miss this. ✨

Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 with @northtxso is happening this weekend, and with a team like this behind it, it’s going to sound incredible. This is the kind of performance you feel.

This is your nudge to get out and support the North Texas arts community in real life. These moments only exist because people show up for them.
