MEET OUR ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Steven Conde is a Filipino-Canadian theatre director, actor, and educator with more than 20 years of professional experience across Asia and Canada. His work includes collaborations with the Stratford Festival, Theatre Calgary, Alberta Theatre Projects, Vertigo Theatre, Citadel Theatre, Lunchbox Theatre, and the Werklund Centre.

As the founding Artistic Director of Second Act Performing Arts Collective, Steven is committed to creating meaningful opportunities for Filipino-Canadian artists and bringing our stories, voices, and culture to centre stage.

For Steven, Second Act represents more than a new beginning—it is a bold continuation. A space where Filipino-Canadian artists can grow, collaborate, take creative risks, and help shape Calgary’s theatrical landscape.

The curtain is rising. Our Second Act begins now.

The next act begins right here.

Second Act Performing Arts Collective is a Calgary-based Filipino-Canadian theatre company dedicated to creating space for our stories, celebrating our culture, and championing the incredible talent within our community.

Through bold and meaningful productions, workshops, and artist-led initiatives, we aim to promote local Filipino-Canadian artists, nurture emerging voices, and create opportunities for connection and collaboration.

We believe our local Filipino artists deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated—not only within our community, but as a vital part of Calgary’s artistic landscape.

Together, we hope to help frontline Filipino arts and culture in Calgary—one story, one artist, one stage at a time.

This is our Second Act. And we're just getting started.
