Kittens kittens kittenzzzz

Kitten season is March-October. But it’s almost November and it doesn’t seem like it’s slowing down any time soon… 🥲 milder winters and warmer falls allow feral cats to reproduce longer 🥲 and there are roughly 700,000 feral/stray/outdoor cats roaming MA 🥲 cats can have multiple litters a year (a cat pregnancy is only like 2 months!) 🥲 fix your pets and adopt a kitten 🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛🐈 hope you learned something by @secondhandpetzzz

My first kitten foster! Nicknamed Nutty, Max, baby cat, or just “the kitten”. 6 weeks old found alone in Taunton

He’s tougher to care for than I expected - not bc of anything he did but bc he’s really young. He needs a mom to groom him, feed him, keep him warm. Or atleast siblings to learn how to be a cat with.

I fed him by spoon or syringe as often as he’d eat. Kitten mostly wanted to be in my lap sleeping, he tried cuddling up to Skye but she wouldn’t have it 😭 I even got an older kitten to keep him company but she slapped him around … so that was short lived

Ppl have been asking for updates since I posted about his eye infection. He started eating less to barely anything at all. He went to the vet on Saturday where he got fluids and stayed overnight. He’s doing better wnd is now with other kittens.

Not sure if he’s coming back to me but that’s okay; I’d rather him be with other cats/kittens during this formative time of his life!

Selfishly crying making this but happy he’s doing better please send him healing vibes ❤️❤️❤️

Whoever adopts him will be so lucky, he’s so sweet and friendly. Would benefit from a kitty sibling of even a cat-friendly dog sibling. If you’re interested in adopting a kitten, join the kitten waiting list by filling out the app linked in my bio. 🐱❤️ by @secondhandpetzzz

Meet Nala! She’s a 1-year-old, medium sized mix and a volunteer favorite.

October is recognized as Pit Bull Awareness Month, founded in 2007 to help fix this breed’s bad image.

Unfortunately shelters are still filled with pits... They wait longer than other dogs to be adopted, and they’re more likely to be euthanized, not because of anything they’ve done, but because of what people assume about them.

Nala is proof of this. She’s been at @scituateanimalshelter for 6 months :( Nala is shy and fearful of strangers, people easily overlook her due to her complications. But once she trusts you, she’ll love you.

She just needs someone patient who understands dogs, with a quieter home and a commitment to training.

💌 Apply through the link in my bio
🔁 If you can’t adopt her, plz share or engage with this post to help out!

And thank you to @bri.hilton for volunteering! She spends her weekends at SAS and wanted to highlight Nala and her story ❤️❤️❤️

Happy October! 🎃🐈‍⬛👻🍂 black cat appreciation month by @secondhandpetzzz

Jinx ❤️ my first foster needed a spot on this page. I saw her sweet little face on Facebook, that’s the first time I learned about the animal situation on TX. She was on a list to be euthanized, due to no fault of her own. The shelter she was at was tax-funded/state-run so legally they have to accept every new stray or surrender. That means when there’s no space, they need to make space by euthanizing animals who have been there the longest. Even when they have perfect health, temperaments, etc - like Jinx :(

I couldn’t just scroll by and not do something. I was connected to a great rescue @homerunhoundsar and we saved her. Got her vetted, vaxxed, spayed, and transported to the northeast.

3 years ago this weekend Jinx was adopted and became Daisy ❤️ I can’t thank them enough for making my first foster experience so great. People ask how you can give up your foster, but it’s so much easier when you meet pet parents like them.

Last summer, Daisy was diagnosed with cancer. I feel good that she got to experience love and safety and life outside of the shelter - she got 2 extra years with Jess & Brendan. I like to think of her with Ali at the rainbow bridge ❤️ forever a good girl. by @secondhandpetzzz
