I don’t think I’ve ever introduced myself.
Hi 👋🏻 My name is Andrea and I’m the face behind Second Hanson.

What started as a way to share my Second hand finds has become a creative outlet to share my love for all things cocktails. I was born and raised in Colorado. I’m the second child in the Hanson family. Both of these combined is where the name Second Hanson came from.

I am an amateur mixologist, I love going out to local spots and trying to recreate menu cocktails at home. I love to experiment with new trends- my latest obsession has been perfecting the art of cocktail foam.

I am married to an awesome partner who always just says “yes” when I bring up a new idea I want to try. He is the best taste tester a girl could ask for.

I am so thankful that you are here and have chosen to follow along with my Labor of Love.

The secret to freshest Chareau Margarita is soaking watermelon rind in your tequila for 48 hours before serving.

Not only will this Margarita be easy to make, it is perfect for a lower calorie cocktail option.

Chareau Margarita
1 oz Watermelon Rind Blanco Tequila
1 oz Chareau
1 oz Lime Juice
1/2 oz Agave

Combine ingredients
Shake until well chilled
Strain into your favorite cocktail glass
Garnish with leftover watermelon rind

1 oz Elderflower Liqueur

1 1/2 oz Gin
3/4 oz Dry Vermouth
3/4 oz Simple Syrup
3/4 oz Cappelletti
3 dashes Orange bitters
Pinch of Salt
187ml bottle of Prosecco

Directions :

Combine
Blend with ice and a pinch of salt
Top with Prosecco

Your blueberries
deserve better
than oatmeal 🫐

This homemade blueberry syrup changes everything:

Blend
1 cup blueberries
½ cup maple syrup

Strain and refrigerate.
Good for 2 weeks.

Blueberry Gimlet

2 oz @hendricksgin
1.5 oz blueberry syrup
.5 oz lime juice

Shake. Pour. Add blueberry garnish so it looks fancy.

Frozen peach lemonade cubes + a spritz situation tastes like summer is loading.

For the Cubes:
1 cup Canned Peaches
1/2 cup Peach Juice
1 cup Lemonade

Blend and freeze overnight.

For the Spritz:
1 cup Peach Lemonade Cubes
2 oz Peach Apéritif
1 oz Gin
1 oz Honey Syrup
3 oz Club Soda
Add ice to your preferred glass. Combine liquid ingredients and stir. Garnish with edible flowers.

Cucumber Water

1 English Cucumber- roughly chopped
4 cups Water

Blend together and strain through cheese cloth.

Cucumber Lemonade

2 oz Cucumber Water
4 oz Lemonade (@drinksimply)
Cucumber Strips for Garnish

Stir to combine, add ice and garnish.

Tropical. Creamy. Boozy. Effortless.

Pineapple Whip

1 Whole Pineapple Cubed
1 Can Coconut Milk (save 1/4 cup)
2 Tbsp Agave

Combine ingredients in blender and process until smooth. Pour liquid into your Ninja Creami pint container and freeze for 24 hours.
Pour remaining coconut milk into frozen container and use lite ice cream function to process.

Now to make it boozy 🍹
2-3 Scoops Pineapple Whip
1.5 oz @sailorjerry Spiced Rum

Add 2-3 scoops of pineapple whip to the glass of your choice. Top with rum. Garnish.

Consider this cocktail your adult version of an Orange Julius.

Queen Julius

One Full Sumo Orange
4 oz @monkeyshoulder Whisky
2 oz Amaretto
2 oz Non Dairy Vanilla Creamer
2 cups ice

Directions:

Peel your orange and remove as much of the whites as you can. Combine all ingredients into blender. Pour into your favorite cocktail glass. Use cookie cutter to slice a few shapes in your orange peel. Garnish like a queen.

6 oz @ripebarjuice Cosmo Mix to freeze for ice cubes
2 oz Cosmo Mix
2 oz Vodka
3 oz Club Soda

Directions:

Stay safe on National Margarita Day with this easy to make margarita instead.

Cherry Cola Margarita

2 oz @milagrotequila Silver Tequila
3/4 oz Lime Juice
1 oz Leftover Luxardo Maraschino Cherry Juice
2 oz Distillers Cola (fever tree)

Directions:
Combine all ingredients minus cola into cocktail shaker. Shake until well chilled. Dirty dump into your preferred glass. Add additional ice and top with distillers cola. Garnish with a lime (21+)
