For the next two months, our third resident of the year @nzlmericckrv will reside in the ‘Blauwe Portiershuisje’ 🔷 🏠 Meriç will realize Flavors of Sectie-C, a project archiving the terrain’s sensory memory and community spirit during its transition. Through weekly visits with residents, cooking sessions, and sensory mapping, she will transform personal stories into shared flavors, culminating in a community dinner 🍴 taken in Sectie-C by @sectie_c

During Gustatory Rhapsody, you’ll enjoy a five course meal, each accompanied by its own musical landscape, performed live by conductor Sofia Chacon and percussionist Ivan Lopez of @_polarisduo_

As the courses unfold, the table slowly becomes the heart of the evening: a place where food, music, and company come together. Come pull up a chair and discover how a shared meal turns strangers into tablemates.

During my residency at Sectie-C, I collected the soup stories of this creative community and translating those shared experiences into new soup recipes.

The installation will be open throughout Dutch Design Week!

A Home of Many Addresses
DDW at The Pool | 17/10 - 08/11

Over 15 years Sectie-C has collected countless stories and shaped a lot of minds. It's a place that became a different home for so many people. Current and former residents now shed their light on the one thing every address has: a letterbox.

It’s all in transition. That’s what drives, inspires, scares and saves us. For that we need anchor points. Vaults for our emotions and crafts. Some would call it a studio, others an office, atelier or workplace. Some call it home. For people these vaults have doors. For other weighty matters there is another entrance. A gateway of conversations, where the past meets the present. A source of great expectation or life-changing messages. A device to question broader systems of distribution and ownership.

This exhibition celebrates the transition of Sectie-C. Specially selected voices from the terrain’s former and current inhabitants share their ephemeral heritage. Shaped by success, failure, movement and stability. Their personal vision on a common subject, gathered from across the world.

A meeting point for people who may never directly encounter one another, becomes a fine balance between clarity and unexpectedness. Questioning connection, belonging and keeping something precious safe. Nestled in the walls, freestanding on the streets, or hanging overhead like nests in a tree.

What started with a small group of designers on the outskirts of Eindhoven has grown into a place where more than 800 makers have their studios and workshops.

We are celebrates our 15 years anniversary by opening our doors and putting our makers front and centre. For nine days, countless Sectie-C residents will open their studios and workshops, with plenty to see, hear, eat and discover across the terrain.
