Have we told you how much we love our work?

We’ve been working on one of the most fun projects recently: the Startup game. It’s been a blast bringing @lucy_heskins ‘s vision and characters to life. Sure, we’re no strangers to gamifying apps but this one is next level.

We learned a lot, laughed a lot, ate a lot of snacks, had a lot of huddles (and a lot of screaming at our screens)...

It depends how you design it. 👀

Gamification taps into the well-documented science of dopamine reward loops, habit formation, and motivational theory. That power can be used for good… or to exploit.

The science:
Dopamine reinforces behaviour when we feel progress or reward.
Habits form when actions are repeated in a consistent, rewarding context.
Self-Determination Theory shows people are motivated by autonomy, mastery, and purpose not just points and badges.

So… When gamification is designed to exploit addictive patterns, it undermines wellbeing.

When it’s designed to support autonomy, celebrate effort, and build healthy habits, it empowers people to thrive.

Last week we were at @uxlondon , a brilliant 3 days of insights for designers, developers, and researchers.
Our UX Director, @melin_edo , took the stage on Discovery Day to share our story and talk about why early-stage validation is so critical.

At Seedable, we focus on helping founders de-risk their product journeys by replacing assumptions with real, behaviour-led evidence. Giving founders that strategic clarity before they invest in building is why we do what we do, so it was incredibly rewarding to see our validation principles resonate so strongly with the audience.
