Dear Wife,
Perhaps one day they’ll know of all the sacrifices you made….all of the muscles you worked on in the early mornings, so that you could make their lives more bearable. This is the love of a mother…..a choice that is underestimated and under-appreciated, but in the end, makes all of the difference.

This is real life… the kind that feels like life lately.

The photo we hope will hold our best, but behind it is the chaos, the laughter, the exhaustion, and the love all woven together.
You took the shower, did your makeup, and still carried the weight of the week in your eyes.
But you showed up.
You tried.
And that’s sacred.
Here’s to the mothers still standing in the storm ..choosing presence over perfection,
one deep breath, one messy photo, one whispered prayer at a time.

Sunday. A day to reset in His presence and prepare for the week to come.

For some, it’s a week to hustle. For others, a week of adventure. And for some, it’s simply another week of trying to survive.

I know I went MIA during this campaign, and I want to be vulnerable about why.

Life has been LIFE-ING. And somewhere between being a woman, a mother, a wife, an advocate, and simply trying to be human, I became overwhelmed. So overwhelmed that my body started carrying what my heart and mind couldn’t process anymore.

And isn’t it something how we women, especially mothers, carry so much in our gut? The very place where we say our instincts come from. We feel deeply. We carry deeply. And sometimes our bodies remind us that we cannot carry it all.

But I’m here. Vulnerable, grateful, and strangely excited about what this season is awakening in me.

This campaign has opened a Pandora’s box. Not just of the suffering so many families quietly endure, but of healing, hard conversations, lessons, and a fire inside me that I didn’t even realize was growing.

There is SO much I want to share with you all. So much I’ve learned, so much I’m questioning, and so much I believe needs to change.

But today, I just want to say thank you.

Carla, thank you for trusting us enough to let us into your family’s story. Into the suffering, the struggles, and the parts of life that aren’t easy to share with the world. Your vulnerability has stirred something much bigger than this campaign.

And I pray that what began with your family will open doors for so many others.

We love you, Carla y familia. ā¤ļø

And to our SEEN familia, thank you for being here even when life gets messy and I go quiet.

Here’s to another week. Whether you’re hustling, healing, or simply surviving, I pray you find moments of rest along the way.

You are SEEN. ā¤ļø

Today we’re calling this Day 6 of our campaign because yesterday was slow… and honestly, I couldn’t campaign.

My day was filled with conversations that are awakening something in me even more:

I will not stay silent.

I know I’m vocal. I know I will ask the hard questions, push back, and speak up. But I also know there are so many families who are exhausted, overwhelmed, afraid, or simply don’t know how to use their voice yet.

So I will use mine.

I will advocate for the people who may not feel comfortable being as loud as me, because basic dignity should never depend on how loudly someone can fight for it.

And today, I’m bringing it back to this mama.

Let’s help her.
Let’s show her she is not alone.

Maybe changing the world starts in little ways — giving $10 or $20 directly to a family who truly needs it instead of spending it somewhere that will never even notice it.

Give if you can.
Share if you can.
Speak up when you can.

Every little act matters.

Thank you ahead of time. Truly. ā¤ļø

Let’s show up for Adaer and his mama.

I had to share this gem. šŸ¤
This is my mom, Matilde… but in the Dominican Republic, everyone knows her as Pusa. šŸ˜‚ Long story, but it’s pure and hilarious.

She’s the woman who taught me how to dance, how to serve, and how to see the people who have less and make sure they never feel like less.

So today I have to spotlight my Zumba-dancing, Crocs-wearing queen. šŸ‡©šŸ‡“šŸ˜‚

Mami, I love you. I’m so proud of the heritage, rhythm, culture, and heart I carry in my veins because of you.

And I’m forever grateful for the union of my Dominican mama and my Puerto Rican dad that made me… me. šŸ‡©šŸ‡“šŸ‡µšŸ‡·

Like Bad Bunny says in LA MuDANZA… un aplauso pa’ mami y papi. Because truly… rompieron. ā¤ļø

Today I want to introduce you to my boys.

Luka came to us through adoption, and from just 5 days old, he was held by his brother with the most tender kind of love. Luka has been such a gift to Maria and AJ, and I know they are an incredible gift to him too.

He will grow up seeing disability, not as something to fear or pity, but simply as part of the people he loves most.

During Spina Bifida Awareness Month, this is one of the things I hope people see: disability is not separate from love, family, joy, or belonging.

Empathy is part of love. And these boys are teaching it to each other every day.

Welcome to our little world of disability.
This is what independence looks like for Andrew.

Every child diagnosed with Spina Bifida has different abilities, different challenges, and a different story.

AJ has always been my wildly independent boy. Since day one, he has hopped around everywhere like a little monkey who never stops swinging. šŸ˜‚ He figures things out. He finds his own way. He keeps moving.

And he has been such a gift to this mama.

When he was born, he pushed me to get healthy, to take care of myself, and to become stronger in ways I didn’t even know I needed.

There is so much beauty in watching your child discover what independence looks like for them.

Day 2. October 1. šŸ¤
Today I woke up remembering that October begins Spina Bifida Awareness Month… and it hit me differently.

Awareness came to me through motherhood.

I didn’t know this world until it became my world. Until disability entered my home, my prayers, my fears, my joy. And now this mommy heart of mine will never stop fighting for this beautiful and too often marginalized community.

People can get tired of hearing ā€œawareness monthā€ for this and that… but most of us don’t really care until something touches our own lives.

Let’s care before.
Let’s care now.

That is part of why Roberto Clemente’s legacy has felt so present in this campaign. He showed us that seeing people should lead us to serve them.

So today, on the first day of this month, I’m asking you to help us bring rest to Carla, Adaer and their family in Puerto Rico.

May awareness become action.
May compassion come before personal experience.
And may this family know they are deeply SEEN. šŸ¤šŸ‡µšŸ‡·

Please consider giving or sharing. Link in bio and in our stories

On this day, September 30, 1972, Roberto Clemente became the first Latino player in MLB history to reach 3,000 hits.

Today, we honor that moment by remembering what made Roberto so much bigger than baseball.

ā€œAnytime I feel something is wrong, I’m gonna say something.ā€

Adaer knows what it means to face barriers.

He is a disabled child growing up in Puerto Rico, where poverty can make accessibility, medical supplies, transportation and basic independence even harder to reach.

Disabled people are still fighting to be included.
Still fighting for access.
Still fighting to belong.

So on the anniversary of Roberto’s 3,000th hit, may his life inspire us to do more than admire him.

When something is wrong, we say something.
And then we show up.

Today, we show up for Adaer. šŸ‡µšŸ‡·
Please donate to this campaign..

If you’re not part of the disability community, here’s the short version of why families like mine are paying attention:

The ADA, Section 504, and Olmstead still exist. But recent federal actions have weakened how some disability protections are enforced. In Texas v. Kennedy, a federal judge struck the community-integration portions of HHS’s 2024 Section 504 regulations after DOJ, representing HHS, joined states asking the court to remove them. Disability-rights groups stress that the underlying laws are still in place, but they warn that federal enforcement of the right to live and receive services in the community is being weakened.

At the same time, parts of special-education administration are being shifted from the Department of Education toward HHS, while more civil-rights enforcement is being moved toward DOJ. That has raised concerns about oversight, accountability, and what this means for disabled students and families.

For my family, this is personal.

My children have private insurance, but it does not cover everything they need. We rely on Medicaid as secondary insurance for things like wheelchairs, medical equipment, supplies, therapies, and daily care. These are not extras. They are what help disabled children live, learn, and participate in their communities.

Families already spend enormous energy fighting denials, approvals, renewals, and systems that make us repeatedly prove our children still need support.

So when disability protections are weakened, we notice.

Disability is not someone else’s issue. An accident, illness, diagnosis, child, or aging can bring any family into this community.

Learn what Section 504 and Olmstead protect. Pay attention to what your state is doing. Support disability-led organizations. Speak up.

Fight like they are one of ours. Because one day, they may be.
