There's more gratitude to dole out: I'd like to appreciate the fellows at @seethrusound (@mikeclemow and @theodd) who mixed the album.

Mike and I went to college together (if you're counting that's three Ithaca College alum on this album) and I have fond memories of late night talks and sensory deprivation experiments. He's brimming with curiosity and creativity and I was excited to learn he'd turned his ear to music production.

I'd like to appreciate their attention to detail, patience with me as I fumbled around looking for the right words and sounds to describe our reference points, and their ability to craft a sound that had depth and breadth.

If you don't know a lot about mixing, I'll tell you this is the part of the process where you decide if the drums are going to snap in your ear or sound like they're across the room, if the vocals will be clear and present or haunting and buried, the positioning of each sound in your ear, and so much more. It's an art. It's like sculpting.

Mike & Wade did an incredible job and I'm so grateful to them.

Their studio is for hire for mixing, mastering and a host of other services and you should check them out.

It's here. This is the day.

My profound thanks to all whose hands touched this. From the Songwriters who gave prompts and feedback on the songs to the 145 who kicked in to f*nd it, to Paul, Anson, Thomas playing the songs so expertly and beautifully, and the crew at Daylight, to Mike and Wade at SeeThruSound and Piper at Neato, Steve who's pitched it to everyone who will listen, and alllll of you who listen and share and damn even the people who told me I was a piece of shit along the way cause I needed to grow that way to get to this place and of course my amazing therapist, family and community, and my kiddo who all kept me alive long enough to be able to start writing about such difficult years.

I hope there's something in these songs for you. by @seethrusound

On Dec 8th of last year, this album "All is Mere Breath" dropped. We haven't been able to post about it because we've been so busy but we are grateful to have had the opportunity to engineer this recording at an excellent sounding space in Brooklyn: @ascensionbrooklynevents. Working with @ecmcsingers and @vincejamespeterson on this 10 movement piece for choir and orchestra by @nicholasweiningercomposer was a real pleasure. The album was beautifully mixed and mastered by Melanie Montgomery at @parmarecordings. It's been wonderful to see this out in the world; it got a write up in @gramophonemagazine (last image). The work is an homage to the victims of the COVID pandemic.

Soloists: Amy Buckley, @blythegaissertmezzo, @bmextorf

🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Honored to work with all of you.

🎙️ Welcome to SeeThruSound! 🔊

We are a post-production and recording studio specializing in custom music and sound design. We offer a variety of services from recording to mixing to mastering to podcasts to film scoring to sound design and more. And we're excited to work with you!

What you're looking at here are views of our Studio A and Studio B rooms. Studio A is our flagship mix room, designed by Wes Lachot, featuring an amazing pair of Guzauski-Swist speakers, and sitting pretty up in the Hudson Valley. Studio B is our project "laboratory" room in Brooklyn, which is a bit smaller and focused on multi-channel sound. Both are kitted out with a variety of great tools which we'll be posting about soon :)

We often get asked what the difference in price is between the two rooms: there isn't one! Your project is what matters and it will likely spend time in both rooms over the course of its lifecycle with SeeThruSound. We'll explain how all this works over time but for now, if you're working on something you're excited about or just curious about what we do, DM us! We're really nice and want to chat!

It’s been a long, wild, emotional and rewarding ride…but things are really starting to shape up in here. So excited to be getting the lasers back out out today to help with framing the front wall of the control room. We’ve been dreaming about this exact day since the digger showed up nearly a year ago at the very start of the project. And it’s finally here! by @seethrusound

And we’re back! We know it’s been a minute since we last posted but we’ve been busy behind the scenes and have lots to share. New company, new studio build, new projects…it’s going to be a great summer.

To help us restart things here, we just welcomed a @uaaudio Volt 476 audio interface into the fold. This little guy will be called upon to quickly capture high quality audio for streaming and social posting…especially while we are in-between studios finishing the new build. Mobile production never looked so good, that’s for sure. And I’m really digging this single cable setup.

Got down a few guitar effects I’m not usually drawn to today. Time to bounce to see if they hold up in the real world. #avid #protools #eventideh9 #guitar #recordingstudio #audiiengineer #recording #audio taken in Seven21 Media Center by @seethrusound
