When a woman with endo is put on the pill, the conversation is usually about her pain. It’s rarely about what the pill is doing in the background.

Here’s what I wish came with the script. The pill shuts down ovulation, which means your body stops making its own progesterone. The bleed you get isn’t a true period, it’s a withdrawal bleed triggered by the break in pills. It also uses up nutrients your body leans on for energy and mood, like B vitamins, magnesium and zinc. For some women it affects mood, and it can change the gut bacteria that help your body clear estrogen.

Then there’s inflammation. Endo is an inflammatory disease, and the pill can nudge inflammation markers up, so you can see why I’m left scratching my head (lol).

Does it help some women? Yes, and I’m never going to take that relief away from anyone. But easing pain and treating what’s driving it are two different things, and the pill only does the first.

I’m over here asking WHY the inflammation is there, WHAT the gut and nervous system are doing after years of pain, and WHAT else this body needs. Those questions deserve space in the appointment too.

If you’re on the pill for endo, that’s your choice. It just deserves to be an informed one.

I’m pretty sure this is my version of flow state ☺️

The power of a herbal liquid is truly unmatched.

It absorbs faster, so your body gets to work sooner. The dosing is exact and matched to your symptoms. And because it blends multiple herbs at once, each one gets to do its own job while working together as a team.

No two formulas are the same. Yours is made specifically for you, and it evolves with you at every appointment, because your body doesn’t stay the same month to month.

And yes, I’ll happily answer to “Potions Master, Herb Fairy, Witch”

p.s if you can do a herbal shot, you can do anything 😝 by @selandstone

I’m saying this with my whole chest.

Endo and PMOS are not “just hormonal dysregulation.”

Hormones are only one part of the picture. They’re often the symptom, not the source.

Endo is the pain that makes you cancel plans, bloating so bad you look pregnant by 3pm, pain with sex or going to the toilet, and fatigue that sleep doesn’t touch. That’s inflammation, immune activity, gut health and how your body clears estrogen, all at once.

PMOS is cycles that disappear for months, acne along your jaw, hair thinning on your head and growing on your chin, and energy crashes and sugar cravings that make no sense. That’s insulin, blood sugar, stress load and inflammation driving your hormones, not the other way around.

Different conditions. Different drivers. And neither one is fixed by only looking at your hormones.

Yet so many women wait 6 months for an appointment and walk out in 10 minutes with the same script: “just go on birth control.”

Birth control can be a useful tool, but it doesn’t tell you why your body is doing this.

Your symptoms are real. Your questions are valid. And 10 minutes was never going to be enough to answer them.

Book a free 20min chat and we’ll start mapping out what’s actually driving your hormones off track, and what your options are x taken in Newcastle, New South Wales by @selandstone

had the endo surgery and you’re thinking, now what?

Still in pain?

Still reacting to every food you eat?

Here’s what’s actually going on. And it’s why “just bad periods” is the biggest disservice to women’s health.

From a clinical naturopath who works with complex endo and hormone cases.

~ Endometriosis is NOT “just bad periods”

Endometriosis is an inflammatory, immune mediated condition with hormonal + neurological overlap.

If you’re only addressing pain with pain relief → you’re managing the OUTPUT, not the DRIVER.

~ Symptoms can’t be fixed without understanding what’s driving them

Endo is influenced by inflammation, immune activity, oestrogen metabolism, stress load, and gut dysregulation.

(aka what is actually feeding + sustaining the condition over time)

Inflammatory markers, iron status, and nutrient depletion are also relevant. The hormones are often the SMALLEST piece in a much larger puzzle.

~ Your nervous system is part of the condition

Chronic pain → nervous system sensitisation → increased pain signalling over time.

Stress, burnout, and poor sleep → can directly amplify flares.

Regulation isn’t optional here, it’s FOUNDATIONAL.

~ The gut, immune, oestrogen axis is central

Endo is strongly influenced by immune signalling + oestrogen recycling.

Gut health → inflammation balance → hormone clearance.

Using comprehensive testing to understand what YOUR gut is doing is key.

(everyone’s presentation is different, so treatment has to be individual)

~ You can’t out supplement a high inflammatory load

It’s not about perfection. But alcohol, ultra processed food, poor sleep, and chronic stress ALL stack. Less load → less symptom amplification in the body.

And honestly, how does any of this make sense when you’re the one living it, but every test says you’re fine?

The mental load of this is my whole job → making sense of what people are actually experiencing when the system keeps telling them there’s nothing there. by @selandstone

It’s time gf...

Here’s what actually happens when you choose to have a naturopath on your team:

~ Not googling your symptoms at 10pm
~ Finally off the hamster wheel of “I think this is just something you need to accept”
~ No more hyperfixating on your symptoms so you can get back to enjoying your life
~ Finally understanding why your symptoms are happening

That’s the difference between putting out spot fires and investigating the root cause. taken in Newcastle, New South Wales by @selandstone

You can be busy and be healthy. It’s not one or the other.

The problem was never that your life is full. It’s that no one’s ever helped you build health into the busy, instead of asking you to clear space for it that doesn’t exist.

That’s the whole point of finding your groove, not overhauling your life, not waiting for a quieter season that isn’t coming. Working with the life you actually have.

Set in Stone isn’t about finding more time. It’s about making the time you already have work harder for you. Waitlist’s open, link in bio. taken in Newcastle, New South Wales by @selandstone
