I’ve recently become aware of some conversations questioning my ability to coach because of the way I look. So it made me realize…maybe it’s time to reintroduce myself especially if you’re a new family member :)

My name is AMANDA HINDS🔥🤞🏾

I’ve lost over 100 pounds on my own, and my journey isn’t over. I’m still working toward becoming healthier and stronger every single day.

Before SoulCycle, I taught at LA Fitness, Signature, and CYCLEBAR. Before any of that, I spent countless hours in my room on my bike, pressing record and practicing for auditions no one ever saw (empty room)
Everything I’ve earned is because I worked my ass off🔥

So let me make one thing clear…

I am here because I earned it and I belong here!

I’m proud to be a plus-size instructor, but I’m so much more than my body. I’m a coach. My classes are energetic, emotional, and challenging.

One assumption I’ve noticed is that people think my classes must be easier because of the way I look…..They’re not

I intentionally coach challenging classes because I believe people are capable of more than they think. I push my riders because I push myself. If you’ve ridden with me, you know I don’t lower the standard.

For a while, I didn’t want to be known as “the plus-size instructor.” But I need to REMEMBER representation matters.

If seeing someone who looks like me gives someone else the confidence to walk into that room, then I’ll proudly continue to represent.

You’ll hear me say it in almost every class
You belong here..I mean it! Even on days you don’t feel like it

I’ll keep showing up, working hard, getting stronger, and proving that passion, leadership, resilience, and the ability to inspire people have nothing to do with body size.

Because I belong here.

YOUR GIRL IS OFFICIALLY A SOULCYCLE INSTRUCTOR ‼️💛

From auditions to now, these past few weeks have been overwhelming in the best way. I had nights full of nerves and doubts, but I never let it stop me. Failure was NOT an option!!

I had no choice but to go get it, and here we are!!

Huge thank you to the entire training team for pushing me with love, guidance, and support to help me grow into the instructor I needed to become to continue to shine so I can help others shine 💛

✨ One year ago today. My SoulCycle audition anniversary.

I was SO nervous. Like heart-racing, handssss shaking nervous. And even though I didn’t make it after interviews that round, it was still one of the best days of my life. I was surrounded by so much love and my friends and I all auditioned together!! We shared all the emotions together.

It was my first time ever auditioning for anything like this experiencing how intense, vulnerable, and real the process could be… but also how beautiful the togetherness was.

Going through that journey side-by-side made it fun, unforgettable, and so special.

I took that NO and went back to work, came back stronger the next round and got it. Because failure was never an option!!!

A reminder: rejection doesn’t mean stop. Sometimes it just means not yet. Keep showing up. Keep believing. Your moment is coming. 🖤🚴🏾‍♀️

Feels surreal watching myself and my life change in real time. 🤎

Usually when I reach a new high, I find a way to self-sabotage because sometimes getting everything you’ve worked for can be just as scary as not having it.

A lot of y’all know I was practicing for auditions on my bike at home before I was even a cycling instructor. But if you’re new here, here’s another part of the journey. 🥹

At 300 pounds during COVID, I took an @alextoussaint25 class on the Peloton app and he’s literally the reason I bought the bike. A year later, I finally got to meet him and HAD to tell him how much of an impact he had on my journey.

The grit, resilience and fight I try to pull out of my hustling ass riders? HE PULLED THAT OUT OF ME! He taught me THROUGH A DAMN SCREEN to stay ready so I never have to GET READY. 😭

I’ll forever be grateful for what Peloton has done for me because I genuinely don’t know if I’d be at SoulCycle without it.
