I’m teaming up with BooksGoSocial for a Holiday Season Makeover Challenge.

One author will be selected to receive help with their cover, book description, pricing, Amazon presentation, promotion, and more as we work on getting their book better positioned for the holiday season.

I’ll also be documenting the process as a future case study. It’s free to apply.

Apply by October 1st:

Gemsy just took a pretty big step forward.

When I tested the review exchange platform, one of its biggest limitations was the lack of support for fiction.

That has changed.

Gemsy now supports fiction along with nonfiction, low-content books, workbooks, activity books, children’s books, and verified print book reviews.

Through August 20, use promo code DALESUMMER50 to get 50% off the yearly plan.

If you’re an author, you need to see this. Scammers are impersonating creators and sending fake emails that look legit, including coaching offers and follow-ups that feel real. This breaks down exactly how it works and what to watch for so you don’t get burned.

For seven years, I worked closely with Ava Fails while building Self-Publishing with Dale. She helped with email, social, editing, articles, and site management, and she knows publishing inside and out.

She is now launching ProWebWriter. If you want clear, no-drama help with formatting or publishing prep, this is worth a look.

Twelve Years In, This Still Scares Her...

At Author Nation 2025, I sat down with author expert Alexa Bigwarfwe, also known as romantic comedy author Lexi Haddock, for a fast two-minute lightning round.

After twelve years in publishing, she shares honest answers about fear, growth, motivation, and the advice she chose to ignore.

This interview cuts through shortcuts and focuses on what actually lasts.

At Author Nation 2025, dark fantasy author A.P. Beswick agreed to a rapid-fire interview with no prep and no fluff. In two minutes, he breaks down what really matters after publishing eighteen books, from marketing realities to mindset shifts most authors avoid.

These answers are fast, honest, and earned the hard way.
