🏅Medal Monday🏅

This one was personal! Redeeming myself after last year’s DNF. Coming back stronger than ever to complete a marathon in my city. YOOO!!! Y’all just don’t understand what this one means. 😭

In 2024, I moved out to Colorado Springs to chase a dream that ultimately didn’t pan out. I moved back home and started the Homestretch Series from my parents’ basement.

While I was living in Colorado, I was mesmerized by the absolute beast that is Pikes Peak. I wanted it to be the first 14er I ever climbed, but I never got the opportunity to do it.
Then, a few months ago, my homie Aaron randomly asked me if I wanted to run a half marathon up Pikes Peak. Even in the middle of my Indianapolis Marathon training block, I just couldn’t say no.

Today, I’m proud to say that I officially climbed my first 14er and reclaimed a goal I had set for myself two years ago. In the same state that rebuilt my hunger for competitive running and inspired the path I’m on today.

This was EASILY the hardest physical challenge I’ve ever endured, and I probably won’t be jumping into the mountain-running scene anytime soon 😂… but I absolutely loved every second of it. No pain, no gain.

Here’s to never letting a goal rest. Here’s to doing the things you say you’re going to do. And most importantly, here’s to NOT DOUBTING YOURSELF. Keep going. 🏔️
