Special shoutout to @xavierturner21 for taking the dub at @theloumile with a new PB of 4:35!! 🔥

Xavier and I have been working together for about a year, and I can’t thank him enough for trusting me to guide him along his journey. He not only pushes me to grow as a coach, but he also challenges himself daily to be great.

This year alone, he’s PR’d in both the 5K and the mile multiple times. That’s a testament to his relentless attitude, discipline, and unwavering belief in his own capabilities. A dangerous mix for sure. 😤

I wasn’t able to race all out at the Lou Mile due to injury, but being there to witness my guy get his first dub in the city at his final race of the season was incredible!

Watching him win reminded me of the bigger picture. This is larger than running itself. Bigger than a PR. Bigger than a first-place finish. It’s about representation, building community, and laying a foundation for the next generation to build upon.

So thank you, X, for representing us so well today and inspiring us all!

Five years ago, this started pretty simply…

a chance to challenge ourselves mentally and physically around 9/11.

I wanted to do something hard together outside our basic gym walls.

To push ourselves, support one another, and remember that we’re capable of more than we sometimes think.

What started as a community fun run/walk and half marathon has grown into something so much bigger.

Each year, we’ve chosen a fundraiser or cause that gives us the opportunity to support people in need — whether that’s someone within our own community or an organization doing meaningful work beyond our walls.

& over the last five years, this community has helped raise more than $35,000 while putting in a whole lot of miles together. ❤️

That number is incredible, but what I’m most grateful for is what it represents.

People showing up for people.

Members walking alongside each other.
Running miles they weren’t sure they could finish. Friends and family joining in.
People donating, volunteering, cheering, and supporting a cause bigger than themselves.

Owning a gym has never just been about workouts for me.

It’s about what can happen when you bring good people together and give them opportunities to challenge themselves, build relationships, and make an impact.

I’m incredibly grateful for every single person who has been part of it.

Here’s to continuing to use fitness for something bigger than ourselves. ❤️
