A series of evening time photos of my commisssioned pieces for @__endzeit Entanglement event. I met @peterpalombi at the perfect time as he was planning this project for the event’s ambient stage, and was able to jump in with 20ft of my bioplastics and multiple large scale photo transfers. I had a lot of fun figuring out how to cook, cool, transport, and suspend these massive pieces and sheets. I was able to pull a lot of content from my light and quantum mechanics lectures the past year, to help brainstorm and offer material insights to Peter’s already thought through design. The team of volunteers, friends, and artists on this project, as well as the other projects happening at The Loom, were so awesome to be around.

Attending Endzeit events has provided me a new immersion into collective sensationalism, creation, listening. I find raving to be a direct rebellion against the structures that work to isolate and degrade our touch on aliveness, and on each other. Sinking into something deeply rooted in feeling consciousness rather than over saturated cognition, or control, tends to re-teach areas of commonly lost contact. I’m so grateful to get to work with people who care about these things, and who actively provide the community with tangible concepts of reconnection and world building.

More gelatin glycerine bio-belt. Some more neckpieces. Some cellulose in there too. I’m testing it all out and wearing them around to different types of activities and environments. Experimenting this week with a vegan alternative called agar agar for a higher melting point. There’s something endearing though, about gelatin shifting slightly when it meets a high body temperature. Sensitivity is so precious. It’s been interesting to take a piece off after wearing it for awhile and checking if I made any impression.

More to share soon. I wanna put my friends in plastic. Goal is teetering toward making personalized nomadic adornments, able to withstand an urban life and also degrade with the elements when ready. Theoretically, something you could dance in all night then later melt onto the riverbank with. It makes sense to make things that last, it also makes sense to treasure something and dissolve with it. by @semnvch
