Title: Crypt of Shadows 15
Type: Cover
Year: 1975

A classic bronze age horror cover telling the story of a convict who makes a deal with a man that, in exchange for half the stolen loot, he will dig him up if he climbs into a marked coffin with a recently deceased inmate. The ruse works, and he is buried, but hours go by and no one comes to dig him up. He lights a match and sees that the body next to him is the man who was supposed to dig him up.

An incredible Timely World War 2 cover re-creation by Alex Schomburg showing Captain America and Bucky jumping into the heat of battle at Brenner Pass in Northern Italy. This cover is especially important in my life as my father used to tell me stories of his father's accomplishments in World War 2. My grandfather (slide 5) was a B-26 bomber pilot flying many different planes including Hells Belle II (slide 4). He saved each cotter pin (slides 2, 3) from the bombs he dropped in Europe while fighting the axis powers, capturing the history of the dates, locations, flak, and success of the missions. His 64th mission took place on November 6, 1944 when he dropped a 1,000 pound demolition bomb onto the Calliano Railway Bridge near Brenner Pass in Northern Italy. He flew 69 of these dangerous missions while with the 319th Bombardment Group before leaving the service.

Few pieces of modern comic art are as deeply tied to a generation of fans as this massive scale original Superman 75: The Death of Superman funeral poster artwork by Dan Jurgens and Brett Breeding, an extraordinary gathering of dozens of characters from across the DC Universe that countless kids and adults unfolded from their copies of Superman 75 and hung on their walls, with the image later immortalized as a nine-card puzzle in SkyBox’s Doomsday: The Death of Superman trading-card set and republished as the cover of DC’s Superman: Funeral for a Friend trade paperback collection—an enduring piece of artwork from one of the most historic events in comic-book history.

Photographer: Theo Westenberger
Title: Sports Illustrated "Dream Team"
Type: Cover
Year: February 1991

An incredible alternative to original comic art. Presented here is the Type 1 photograph by Theo Westenberger used for the iconic Dream Team Sports Illustrated cover. This is also a unique piece as most Type 1 photos are much smaller in size around 8"x11" but this is a massive 16"x20" photo. This is the best type of production piece for magazines and cards.

P.S. The graded magazine is for reference only. It is not ours.

Artist: "Ghastly" Graham Ingels
Title: Haunt of Fear 16
Type: Cover
Year: 1952

Check out this Graham Ingels original cover art for The Haunt of Fear 16, a classic EC horror, packed with the dark, creepy imagery he was famous for and featuring a mad scientist and all three legendary EC hosts—the Old Witch, Crypt-Keeper, and Vault-Keeper. This is also the first EC cover to announce the Ray Bradbury connection. The Crypt-Keeper and Vault-Keeper are original stat paste ups and the Old Witch is a modern reproduction. I've wanted an EC cover for a while now to display next to Lee Elias' Chamber of Chills 23 cover. This one is the perfect amount of horror without scaring guests off too quick.

A piece of Spider-Man history! The complete Dennis Calero Spider-Man Noir 1–4 variant cover original art set, including the first appearance cover of Spider-Man Noir, capturing the moment Marvel introduced one of its most iconic alternate versions of the wall-crawler. Four incredible covers that helped define the Noir universe from the very beginning. These are the only covers that exist for his first appearance considering Patrick Zircher confirmed his main covers were created digitally. Minor digital touch-ups were done to create the final image for issues 1 and 2.

Artist: Al Williamson
Title: Star Wars "Darth Vader Strikes"
Type: Sunday Strip
Year: 4-26-81

From some of the earliest Al Williamson Star Wars art this Sunday has it all. Darth Vader in the first panel looking evil in front of his fleet of Star Destroyers. An incredible image of the Millennium Falcon along with R2-D2 and C-3PO getting into some sort of shenanigans. And then the classic final panel with Darth Vader's signature force choke. This Sunday also marks the introduction of the Star Wars Scrapbook where they show off characters from the storyline. Since Yoda and Darth Vader never met this was one of the few opportunities to get them both on the same page, just a few months after Yoda's first ever comic book appearance.

Artist: Takashi Teshirogi
Title: Pokémon Ash & Pikachu Vol. 2
Type: Chapter 11 Cover "Do Your Best Bulbasaur"
Year: 2002

As many of you are aware I'm not the biggest fan of manga, however, I'll always have a soft spot for Pokémon and original art. This is the perfect combination of the two. Illustrated by Takashi Teshirogi and used as the "Do Your Best Bulbasaur" chapter cover this one of a kind art is perfect for the collection. It is impossible to find Ash and Pikachu alongside any other starter Pokémon so having Bulbasaur is quite the treat.

Artist: Howard Chaykin
Title: Star Wars 1
Type: Page 7
Year: 1977

The history of the Star Wars 1 comic book movie adaptation compared to A New Hope is quite interesting. In the movie this scene is the very first time we see C-3PO and R2-D2 land on Tatooine and the very first time we are introduced to Jawas. All of this happens before we are ever introduced to Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca or almost any other recurring role besides Darth Vader and Leia. However, in the comic book there are two previous pages that introduced us to Luke but were ultimately deleted from the movie. Page 2 Luke can be seen observing the epic battle through his macrobinoculars and Page 5 he is hanging out with his friends in Anchorhead. Overall, Page 7 is one of the earliest examples of any Star Wars art and one of the more memorable scenes from the movie.
