🚨SOLD!!!🚨 Two massive grails were just sold/traded via a private offering at @Semperficomics.

💥Journey Into Mystery 83, the first appearance of Thor, in a CGC 9.4 with bright white pages. This is nearly top of the population report with only a lone 9.6 graded higher.

💥X-Men 1, the first appearance of Professor X, Cyclops, Iceman, Angel, Beast, Marvel Girl, and Magneto. Of the 6,965 examples on the census there are only 6 higher graded than this one including four 9.6 and two 9.8.

This sale was yet another incredible opportunity for a collector/investor to add extemely rare comics to their collectibles portfolio and indicates a continuing upward growth of the top end market. There has been a major transfer of ownership in high end comics lately on the private market. Sellers are getting record prices for their collectibles and buyers are attaining examples that even the major auction companies are having difficulty getting on consignment.

As always, we are seeking consignments/purchases, with no risk to you of auctions going too low, and are also accepting want lists for comics and comic art of all values. Send a DM with any inquiries or if you just want to chat about comics or anything related to collectibles/investments. We are here for you.

🚨Most Expensive Batman Comic Ever Sold!!!🚨

SemperFi Comics, in collaboration with Heritage Auctions, has completed one of the largest private comic transactions ever recorded, involving two comic books once purchased at the newsstand for 10 cents each: a Batman No. 1 CGC 9.4, the highest-graded known copy, for $6 million, alongside the second highest-graded copy of Superman No. 1, a CGC 8.5 Mile High pedigree copy, for $7 million. Both the buyer and seller prefer to remain anonymous.

The CGC 9.4 Batman No. 1 exists at the summit of scarcity — a condition so rare it elevates the book from collectible to cultural icon. Featuring the earliest solo adventures of the Dark Knight and marking the debuts of both the Joker and Catwoman, the issue is a foundational pillar of modern superhero mythology. This sale resets the issue’s own world record for the most expensive Batman comic ever sold by nearly threefold.

Its companion in the deal, the Mile High pedigree Superman No. 1, carries an equally profound legacy. Revered for their exceptional preservation and historic provenance, Mile High copies represent the gold standard of Golden Age collecting — books that have transcended hobby status to become investment-grade treasures.

Thank you Heritage Auctions and @kiheicollectibles for helping facilitate this incredible deal.

As always, we are here to help the community grow. If you are interested in selling or trading your high-end comic books we have buyers worldwide who are ready to purchase on the spot. We also have an incredible selection of golden age through modern keys, rare variants, and noteworthy comics for sale along with an entire page dedicated to original comic art @semperficomicart
