Magnificent trip to the Baja California Sur in Mexico. La Paz is a vibrant, clean and beautiful city. Lots of much needed sunshine and warmth as we combed the seas in search of roosterfish. An incredible journey with some incredible folks. Viva la Mexico! #lapazmexico #flyfishthebaja #flyfishmexico #roosterfishonthefly #mahionthefly by @senioronthefly

I just can’t stop looking at this picture of eye-to-eye with my PB tarpon. An encounter I never expected when only juvenile tarpon were expected. Where this rare beauty came from and to me specifically is still a mystery but was obviously meant to be. To be this close to this stunning sea creature moved me beyond words. But I remembered a saying my dear friend @bill.marts said to me while fishing in Mexico, “there is no crying in flyfishing!” So I maintained my composure and quickly released this tarpon back to the blue hole he emerged from. #flyfishing #tarpononthefly #womenwhoflyfish #ladyangler #epminnow #cuba #jardinesdelareina #pbtarpon #nocryinginflyfishing #adaytorember #apictureisworthathousandwords by @senioronthefly

Magnificent time on the Missouri River! Fell in love with the scenery, the fishery, the remoteness and all the wildlife. Big thanks to @fishingthruretirement for showing us the ropes in your beautiful boat. @matt_mohar also rowed us and we scored lots of big browns and rainbows. Already planning our next trip back. See ya sooner than later Missouri River! #montanaflyfishing #mightymo #butterlover #flyfishingforlife by @senioronthefly

Fly Casting Olympics last night @terramarbrewstillery Members of @northsoundtu @fourthcornerflyfishers @phwff and @theconfluenceflyshop joined for an informal fly casting course put together by Fly Fishers International. Accuracy, distance and obstacle courses were part of the fun as well as one-on-one instruction by certified casting instructors. Thanks to all who came and joined the fun! See you next year. #brandonwins #projecthealingwaters #fourthcornerfly #flyfishersinternational #northsoundtu by @senioronthefly

Another Schmoots Clooper in the books! Wow has this Carp and Bass Fly Fishing Invitational Tournament grown. What started out as a few folks gathering in the desert for some golden carp has turned into a regional and beyond tourney. BIG THANK YOU to @bill.marts for putting on another successful Schmoots Clooper. We love you Bill 😘 @lelandmiyawaki43 who has attended this event for years and years. Seen here posing with the shirt that was designed after his likeness! Loved seeing my old carp friends and family as well as making new friends too. See ya next year! #schmootsclooper #billmarts #alacozymotel #flyfishing #flyfishinglife by @senioronthefly

When life throws a curve ball your way and the doctors find a mass lurking in your head. Fast forward to yesterday and my first day back on the water after surgery. Mass is benign and I’m free to move about the planet again. Thanking my lucky stars for a good outcome and the best surgeon ever. #thankful #dranstead #surgery #postop #recovery by @senioronthefly

Fun day on the local lake! Oodles of rainbow trout catch and release on a bruised balanced leech (love this fly). We even had a baby duck adopt our boat for the afternoon. We brought her safely back to the reeds to eat real flies. #flyfishing #flyfishinglife #balancedleech #sagesonic #sagex by @senioronthefly

Fun time fishing with Leland Miyawaki @lelandmiyawaki43 and Bret Livingston @blivingflies getting some action on our Miyawaki Poppers. So many beaches here on the Kitsap Peninsula to choose from. And with SRC it’s all about being at the right beach at the right time with the right fly. We like things The Hard Way. #searuncutthroat #cutthroatonthefly #miyawakipopper #kitsappeninsula #legendofflyfishing by @senioronthefly

Incredible trip to the OP to fish for the elusive wild steelhead on our Spey rods. We floated the lower Hoh one day and the lower Bogachiel the other day. We both had hits but no fish to hand. But what we did gain was immeasurable knowledge and personalized training on improving our Spey game. @jawarnick is a fantastic guide, tending to our every need, all the while remaining upbeat even during the sideways rain and wind. I am forever grateful to Josh for giving me Spey clarity and confidence. I can TRULY say I am an “Official” Spey caster. Thanks Josh @jawarnick and Waters West @waterswestflyshop for a spectacular adventure! #speyclarity #spey #speycasting #olympicpeninsula #wildsteelhead by @senioronthefly
