Alexander Holm - Head Stroll

Alexander Holm plays through a pocket. Field recordings, spoken word and movement blur fiction and memory into sonic ritual. half meditation, half map. Half séance, half game board.
A three track music compilation Head Stroll by Copenhagen based composer/ sounddesigner/performance artist/ Alexander Holm, made between 2020 and 2025. The project explores different form criterias for recording and composing with text, voices, instruments and sounds, e.g. through dice rolling, tracking of lost memories, guided imagery, a.o. The material originates from live shows, performed in both formal venues as well as in more spontaneous settings.

’song passing’ is made in collaboration with Francesca Burattelli.

‘FP20’ is made in collaboration with MK Velsorf.

Cello on ‘one sec laughter’ performed by Cæcilie Trier.

All songs are produced in collaboration with Claus Haxholm & Francesca Burattelli.

Tonight Alexander Holm and Frederik Heidemann gave a performance of/with sounds, their sources and their psychological and physical (dis-)placement in space, memories, imaginations and time.
The performance was part of Forskningens Døgn (the national research day) where we in Struer of course have focused on sound and listening.

Meet Alexander Holm🎧
Alexander is an experimental composer and Drift Radio resident.

Here he is getting ready to record sounds during a birdwatching tour we did with @flocktogether.world this summer.

For his shows at Drift, Alexander often brings a wireless microphone out onto Mimersgade, recording sounds from the street and combining them with tracks from local producers.

Pretty limited, don’t sleep

Music to be heard with ears. Through and through. Over and over. No coherence or meaning. A slow rotating dial of information. In and out of focus between benches, beams, buffs, busses, butter, bars, bees, bumps, beens and boons. Luminous eyes around a small fire. Waiting for something to happen. These two movements. With 10 eyes divided onto 6 faces. Making small sounds as they roll clockwise. Then over the table... stumbling into everyday ghosts.

Yes! Time for a very special one!

Someone mentioned a concert from the Becue Bakery last winter— seeing Alexander Holm play his encore on a the old dough mixer, seemingly speaking with the late baker’s clerk. As a follow up on his Head Stroll EP from june ’25 DIAL collects five tracks by Copenhagen based artist Alexander Holm and different collaborators. The project explores different form criterias for recording and composing with text, voices, instruments and sounds, e.g. through dice rolling, tracking of lost memories, guided imagery, a.o. The material originates from live shows, performed in both formal venues as well as in more spontaneous settings. Recorded between 2020-2025.

Alexander Holm - Dial is out on all platforms and if you are still reading here… there is also an double EP (as one LP) released on bandcamp.
Quite limited so don’t sleep on this amazing publication.
