Meet Alexander Holm🎧
Alexander is an experimental composer and Drift Radio resident.

Here he is getting ready to record sounds during a birdwatching tour we did with @flocktogether.world this summer.

For his shows at Drift, Alexander often brings a wireless microphone out onto Mimersgade, recording sounds from the street and combining them with tracks from local producers.

Find Alexander’s shows on our YouTube and SoundCloud.

In conjunction with last week’s opening @sortediamant , where I am showing a series of old work, I released a new online artwork ✨

I’d be so happy if it reaches someone who enjoys spending time with it!

__
Let a dark horse run over your screen at night is a live animation on the web. On www.a-dark.horse a dark horse replaces the ceaseless stream of images and information from the internet and lowers the brightness of your screen. The work is inspired by Hrimfaxi, the horse that rides the Moon across the night sky in Norse mythology. It is a search for cyclical time in an accelerated, digitalised world. The animation is generated in real time by an algorithm using live data from NASA about the Moon’s movements and appearance.

With music by Alexander Holm and coding by Rifke Sadleir

The project is supported by @statenskunstfond #knudhøjgaardsfond and #pouljohansenfonden

This absolute special banger is out!

Alexander Holm - Dial / Head Stroll
STRLP-105
Pretty limited, don’t sleep

Music to be heard with ears. Through and through. Over and over. No coherence or meaning. A slow rotating dial of information. In and out of focus between benches, beams, buffs, busses, butter, bars, bees, bumps, beens and boons. Luminous eyes around a small fire. Waiting for something to happen. These two movements. With 10 eyes divided onto 6 faces. Making small sounds as they roll clockwise. Then over the table... stumbling into everyday ghosts.

released August 18, 2026

Yes! Time for a very special one!

Someone mentioned a concert from the Becue Bakery last winter— seeing Alexander Holm play his encore on a the old dough mixer, seemingly speaking with the late baker’s clerk. As a follow up on his Head Stroll EP from june ’25 DIAL collects five tracks by Copenhagen based artist Alexander Holm and different collaborators. The project explores different form criterias for recording and composing with text, voices, instruments and sounds, e.g. through dice rolling, tracking of lost memories, guided imagery, a.o. The material originates from live shows, performed in both formal venues as well as in more spontaneous settings. Recorded between 2020-2025.

Alexander Holm - Dial is out on all platforms and if you are still reading here… there is also an double EP (as one LP) released on bandcamp.
Quite limited so don’t sleep on this amazing publication.

FREDERIK HEIDEMANN & ALEXANDER HOLM - „SWORLD“ sound walk
FRIDAY 16:00 + 19:00
SATURDAY 16:00 + 20:30
Limited capacity of 20 listeners per walk - write your name on the yellow poster at the entrance to reserve a spot! Duration: about 50 min.

Frederik Heidemann & Alexander Holm perform their newest work under the umbrella „Sworld“. The project explores the boundaries between documentary audio, experimental music and performative broadcasting, examining play-based narratives and shifting roles of listening. In this edition, the duo takes the audience on a walk through the landscape outside of Sambiosen, to take a closer look on this environment. Rumour has it, they’ll bring some kind of device capable of turning the landscape 180 degrees. Not sure if this means that we’ll experience this thing sideways? No matter what - don’t miss out!

The performance is commissioned for Salad Days, and was developed on site earlier this summer. Realized with kind support by @kodakultur

FREDERIK HEIDEMANN & ALEXANDER HOLM - „SWORLD“ lydvandring
FREDAG 16:00 + 19:00
LØRDAG 16:00 + 20:30

Begrænset kapacitet på 20 lyttere pr gang - skriv dit navn på den gule plakat ved indgangen for at reservere en plads! Varighed: ca 50 min.

Frederik Heidemann & Alexander Holm udfører deres nyeste værk under paraplyen „Sworld“.
