Yesterday, we kicked off the first of three Health for Life training sessions for our Cohort 15 delegates 🙌

Yesterday's session was all about growing food - aiming to equip delegates with the tools to engage pupils and help increase their knowledge and understanding of its links to a healthy lifestyle 💡

A huge thank you to @tcv_theconservationvolunteers, @avfcfoundation, @gardenorganicuk, Roots2Fruit, Space 2 Grow and @growtoschool who all led fantastic sessions.

Last year, our Birmingham Schools’ Symphony Orchestra headed to London's Royal Albert Hall to perform at the annual @musicforyouth Proms - an unforgettable night for both SFE and our young musicians ✨

So, you can imagine how excited we are to share that SFE is returning to the Royal Albert Hall this year with the Birmingham Schools' Jazz Band! 🎶🎷

This is such an incredible opportunity for our young musicians, and we are already counting down the days. We can’t wait to see them shine on November 9th!

Yesterday, the entire Services For Education team gathered at Anchor Point, Birmingham, for our annual All-Colleague Day 📍

The day featured insightful sessions from Oli Wilson (Trustee at SFE), our Staff Forum, and guest speaker @cathymadavan 💡

Bringing our teams together under one roof is always a highlight, especially as we gear up for the new academic year. A huge thank you to everyone who made the day a success - here's to a fantastic 2026/27 👏✨

Back in June this year, Health for Life schools had an outstanding presence in the 2026 Meal in a Barrow competition at Gardener's World Live, with an impressive 40 entries submitted by both current and former Health for Life primary schools and nurseries 🥗🥕🌱

Each wheelbarrow showcased not only creativity and horticultural skill, but also a clear passion for healthy eating, sustainability and hands-on learning 👏

The Meal in a Barrow showcase is a highlight of Gardener’s World Live, capturing the attention of visitors throughout the event. Crowds were drawn to the vibrant, imaginative displays, taking time to explore the unique planting schemes and read the stories behind them.

A huge well done to all the schools who took part! 💚

And just like that, the 2026 Youth Proms come to a close. 🎶💫

Tonight, the final notes echoed through Symphony Hall, bringing down the curtain on a truly magical week. Seeing thousands of Birmingham’s young people come together to share their love of music has been nothing short of inspiring.

To every single person who performed, tuned an instrument, or cheered from the stalls this week - THANK YOU. You made this week a resounding success 🙌

Over the last 48 hours, thousands of audience members have cheered, clapped, and been moved by the incredible talent of our city’s youth. Tonight, it’s the turn of our next brilliant ensembles to take over the iconic Symphony Hall stage! 👏

Get ready for an evening of incredible music, handled with flair by our host Des Coleman, and fully accessible with BSL interpretation by Sarah Butt.
