Tyler, also known as @black_casket is Pennsylvania-based artist known for bold blackwork and dark illustrative tattoos that blend organic movement, graphic precision, and strong contrast. BUILT TO LAST A hands-on drawing workshop focused on composition, readability, and longevity. Explore how placement, anatomy, contrast, and flow work together to create tattoos that hold up over time. Heather, also known as @spirit.of.salt , is a Dallas-based tattooer and visual artist whose atmospheric work blends symbolism, texture, dark ornamental elements, and surreal imagery. WORK THAT RESONATES A hands-on workshop exploring how to develop a distinct artistic voice and create work rooted in individuality rather than trends. Learn how flow, rhythm, and negative space can strengthen tattooing, branding, prints, and merchandise. David, also know as @artofwilso is a Denver-based tattooer and illustrator known for expressive drawing, dynamic movement, and an art-first approach to tattooing. GESTURE, EMOTION, AND DESIGN A hands-on drawing workshop focused on facial expressions, gestures, and foundational studies. David will also cover developing your style, staying inspired, and working through creative burnout while keeping art at the center of your tattooing. @cass.fuller is a Dallas-based tattoo artist and fine artist known for vibrant florals, painterly realism, and a strong understanding of color, texture, and movement. WE ARE BACK! LAST YEAR, we did the whole hands-on workshop thing. Live drawing. Interactive seminars. You know, actually making you participate. THIS YEAR? We’re going back to the drawing board. Like, literally. Back to basics. Back to when you actually loved drawing before Instagram made it a full-time job. We’re focusing on the stuff that matters: drawing, design, creativity, and the constant existential crisis of being a tattooer. You know, the essentials. Less sitting there pretending to take notes. Through hand-drawn compositions and highly detailed flash work, her style balances raw texture with strong readability creating imagery that feels both timeless and deeply personal. DRAWING WITH INTENTION A hands-on drawing workshop that helps you uncover what makes your style yours. Through symbolism, word-image association, and personal codex exercises, you’ll create work rooted in meaning not just aesthetics. Learn to develop imagery that comes from within, not from reference alone. @jonnelson_tattoos is a Fort Lauderdale-based tattoo artist known for his dark fantasy-inspired black and grey work, blending realism, dotwork, and cinematic compositions. Through his tattooing and social media presence, he’s built a strong following by sharing authentic insight into his process, creativity, and passion for pushing artistic boundaries within tattoo culture. TECHNIQUE BUILD CONFIDENCE A live tattooing workshop exploring 3RL technique from start to finish, offering a closer look at the small details, subtle adjustments, and real-time decision-making that shape the process from beginning to end. See how tiny changes in movement, stretch, machine setup, and approach can influence the overall result, while gaining insight into the nuances that are often overlooked during a finished tattoo. @oiseau_noir is an Austin-based tattoo artist by @sessionstattooedu

Back in our day… You could post a question on platforms like Read Street and TattooDoodles and get honest feedback from other tattooers. We wanted to create that space again. Well, that’s pretty much how Sessions started too. We got tired of waiting and decided to take the reins back into our own hands. This is Sessions Connect. An extension of Sessions. A place where tattooers can come together as a community. A community looking to get better, share ideas, create opportunities, and learn from one another. Post work. Ask questions. Get critiques. SESSIONS RETURNS! Sessions .005 is coming back to Austin, Texas, August 31 through September 1, 2027! We have some big plans for .005, and we’re going to keep pushing ourselves to make each one better than the last. Save the date and make sure you’re subscribed to our newsletter so you’ll be the first to know what’s coming! In the meantime, because apparently we don’t know how to take a break, we’re extremely excited to team up with @richmondtattooconvention to host their Academy on October 26. People keep coming back. Completely by choice, of course. We’ve been putting on Sessions for two years now, and Austin will be our fourth event. One of the things that means the most to us is how many people keep coming back. We’ve watched attendees return to help, become part of the community, and even end up presenting at future Sessions. For us, Sessions has always been about the community and the people in it. It has grown because you keep showing up, supporting it, and helping us make each one better than the last. None of this happens without you, and we’re incredibly grateful for that. We’re stoked to see where Sessions goes from here and what comes next. I’m not crying, you’re crying. It took me a little while to process last week. Even after 25 years, I keep coming back to how much I love tattooing and this community. When we set out to create Sessions, I had no idea what it would become. I wanted a place where we could grow, push ourselves, remember why we love this, and see one another succeed.
