On Sunday, May 3, we braved the midge flies to walk through our community on a Jane's Walk led by SESSN members.
Jane's Walk is a global festival of community-led walking conversations and there were so many incredible @janeswalkto walks happening this year!
Swipe to see what we learned about the history of homelessness and housing advocacy in South Etobicoke. We encourage you to take the walk and check out these spots for yourself!
Thanks to everyone who came out!

Advance voting is OPEN this week, right up until Sunday, Oct. 11! If you can't make it out to election day, be sure to come out this week. Find out where you're voting by going to myvote.toronto.ca! All information on voting in these slides is taken directly from the City of Toronto's website.

City council makes crucial decisions on supportive and affordable housing and supports for those facing homelessness--we need to vote in leaders who care and take action on these issues, so be sure to do your research and make it out to the polls.

Where are all the anti-shelter groups? If you don’t want more shelters then we should have seen you protesting Bill 60. Affordable and predictable rent helps keep people housed. Where is the integrity of a government that skips the public consultation and only meets with corporate landlords? Interestingly we didn’t see the loud voices of Integrity TO, New Toronto Initiative or Niagara Neighbours. If you’re serious about wanting to keep people housed and out of encampments & shelters, lobby the source. DOUG FORD. by @sessn.to

** CORRECTION: The workshop is WEDNESDAY, OCT. 22!**

Tomorrow is our FINAL workshop in our learning series, "Unhoused people are our neighbours too!"

We're excited for this one, led by Marianne and Katrin from the @torontodropinnetwork, where we'll be learning practical steps we can take in caring for those who are unhoused. Thanks to everyone who's been involved in the last two workshops!

See you tomorrow—registration not required but appreciated!
