Kaserne is the musical project of Alessandra Novaga and Laura Corolla, bringing together Baroque violin and electric guitar. Both instruments harbour distant sonic memories, inscribed in their material properties: the violin’s gut strings, bow and interplay of gesture and resonance; the guitar’s capacity to preserve and transform sonic traces through each gesture.

Through compositions, reinterpretations and commissions, the duo is developing its own repertoire. Its first commission to Stefano Pilia invites the composer to create a new work specifically for Baroque violin and electric guitar, extending an investigation into the possibilities of two instruments rooted in disparate histories yet capable, through electricity, of transcending their boundaries and forging a new sonic identity.

Composed for Kaserne by Stefano Pilia, Tétlathi dé, kradíe pursues this enquiry. Melodic and harmonic profiles derived from triangular numbers unfold through canons and mirrored lines, continually renewing the same musical form.

Conceived as an open score, the work grants performers freedom to shape its temporality, timbre and direction, transforming the piece into a shared space of listening and sonic metamorphosis.

The Sound Exhibition Series is curated by fold/interval and presents sound works exclusively commissioned from selected artists and composers. Unreleased and previously unheard, these works are approached in much the same manner as visual artworks within an exhibition context: they may be experienced at settantaventidue solely for the duration of the exhibition, through the specially developed Futura Research sound system
.
Miki Yui is an artist/composer/musician from Tokyo, based in Dusseldorf, Germany. With a background in fine art, Miki Yui explores the grey zones of our perception and imagination, in the fields of music, drawing, installation and performance. From her debut album “small sounds” in 1999, she is known for her unique, mysterious, minimalistic and organic approach to music. She has released so far eight solo albums. In recent years, she has focused her work on listening as an ecological act; she produces albums and radio pieces and performs concerts, including in multichannel settings
.
LUCE was composed by Miki Yui in 2026 for settantaventidue’s Sound Exhibition Series and has a duration of 19’28’’
.
In LUCE, light vibrates, darkness echoes. We, the transient travellers, drift through the in-between spaces riding an eternal wave.

Miki Yui’s Live Performance at settantaventidue features quiet, nuanced, abstract electronic music that invites the audience into a state of deep listening. From a delicate tiny hiss to a distant hum, electronic sounds and field recordings are woven into music with a narrative tension, that reveals the beauty of emptiness, the phenomena of coexistence and resonances in life.
The soundscapes evoke vivid internal imagery, while it incorporates many natural elements, reflecting our intrinsic connection to the natural world

settantaventidue is pleased to invite you to the solo CONTINUITY exhibition by CHARLEMAGNE PALESTINE
.
Thursday the 17th of September starting at 19:00
.
This solo exhibition brings together a selection of rare, seminal works by Charlemagne Palestine from the early ‘70s
.
The entire space at settantaventidue will be devoted to the complete selection of Palestine’s Books of Continuity, presented alongside his unique Spectral Continuum Drone Machine. This exceptionally rare encounter brings together two fundamental dimensions of Palestine’s practice—visual and sonic—in a constellation rarely, if ever, experienced in this form.
On the opening day, Palestine will activate the machine live; it will then continue autonomously throughout the two-month exhibition, generating an evolving drone work. A special video work with an accompanying soundtrack produced by Palestine will further immerse viewers and listeners in his world of continuously evolving sound and imagery.
Developed between 1968 and 1972, the Spectral Continuum Drone Machine emerged from Palestine’s experiments with electronic oscillators and his collaboration with synthesiser pioneers Don Buchla and Serge Tcherepnin. Designed to sustain dense electronic tones whose relationships unfold with extreme gradualness, it became a fundamental laboratory for his exploration of resonance, sustained sound and physical listening.
The Books of Continuity, developed alongside these sonic experiments, translate the same principles of repetition, accumulation and continuity into visual form. Through concentrated drawing, colour and gesture, they function as unique artist’s books, visual records and extensions of Palestine’s performative practice, dissolving the boundaries between sound, image, performance and object.
The Books of Continuity were last exhibited to the public at Franklin Furnace in New York in 1977
.
Charlemagne Palestine will be present at the opening, where he will activate the drone live before meeting the public

A unique lecture-performance by Thorbjørn Reuter Christiansen and Rachel Dagnall centered on Symphony Natura, Henning Christiansen’s composition originally realised in 1985 at the Villa Borghese Zoo in Rome. Drawing on archival materials, images, and personal recollections, the presentation introduces the work from both a historical and critical perspective, while offering insight into Christiansen’s artistic process and his distinctive approach to sound, improvisation, and attentive engagement with the surrounding environment

Throughout the lecture-performance, Thorbjørn Reuter Christiansen, composer and son of Henning Christiansen, and scenographer Rachel Dagnall, who run the Henning Christiansen Archive, will activate Christiansen’s Homemade Orchestra, bringing elements of his experimental sonic practice into the present

The event is followed by a collective listening session dedicated to the forthcoming release of Symphony Natura by the Henning Christiansen Archive. Conceived as an opportunity to encounter the work in its entirety, the session offers a shared listening experience exploring the interplay of animal voices, environmental sounds, and musical composition
