Our sixth annual “Sponsor a Holiday Wish” campaign was another incredible success! Thanks to the overwhelming support from our community, we raised over $4,890, allowing us to support over 40 vulnerable youth and their families at Terry Fox Elementary School (Abbotsford) and Beaver Creek Elementary School (Surrey). This year, we provided brand new winter jackets, boots and sneakers to 25 students at Beaver Creek, as well as $850 in grocery gift cards to help support families at Terry Fox during the holiday season. A huge thank you to the students and staff of Dasmesh Seva Club, who raised $955 in support of this campaign. Thank you to the principals and administrators at Terry Fox and Beaver Creek for helping us coordinate and ensuring everything was ready to be delivered in time for winter break. Finally, we are so grateful for all the donors who sponsored wish lists, donated and spread the word about our campaign. Your continued support every year makes this all possible! by @seva.bc

Today was the first day of our Arts & Games Club - an afterschool mentorship program at Terry Fox Elementary that aims to build positive connections between students and mentors. Our goal is to offer an encouraging space that allows students to express their creativity and also have some fun through engaging and hands-on activities! Together, we painted clay pots and then had students pick their favourite flowers to pot and take home! A heartfelt thank you to our community sponsor who donated the flowers and soil for today’s events 🌷 by @seva.bc

Thanks to the overwhelming support from our community, we raised an amazing $3,531, which allowed us to sponsor 29 deserving students from Terry Fox Elementary. Each student received brand-new, high-quality winter boots and jackets to stay warm this season. Here’s how you can support our campaign: General Donations: Send contributions to info@sevabc.org. All additional proceeds will be spent on purchasing grocery gift cards for the families of these students. Sponsor a Wishlist: Reply to our stories to sponsor a student’s wishlist. We’ll handle the purchase of their jacket and/or boots and provide a receipt. Partial Sponsorship: Donate any amount you’re comfortable with to support a wishlist. Gift Purchases: If you’d like to personally purchase the winter gear, message us for more details. This year, we’ve partnered with Dashmesh Punjabi School, whose students will fundraise to also support these wishlists. Our fourth annual "Sponsor a Holiday Wish" campaign was an unbelievable success again! Thanks to the positive response from the community we were able to raise $3410 and sponsor a total of 24 deserving students from Terry Fox Elementary! The students were provided with brand new, good quality winter boots, jackets, and toys! We are always lucky to have such amazing donors from the community, so we were also able to provide students and their families with $600 worth of grocery gift cards for additional support during the holiday season. We would like to thank Sevenoaks Sportchek for continuing to provide us with an amazing discount that allowed us to get the best quality items for these students! We would also like to thank Dashmesh Punjabi School for providing a helping hand this year with purchasing and wrapping the gifts! The DPS students helped raise $150 that went towards gift purchases as well! We want to also say thank you to the principals and administrators at Terry Fox who were able to gather the information we needed on the students so quickly in order to have all the shopping completed before the winter break! We hope everyone has a very happy holiday season and we are excited to continue giving back to our community! by @seva.bc

Our third annual “Sponsor a Holiday Wish” campaign was a success! We got a very positive response from the community and so many people stepped up to sponsor. We were able to raise $1740 and sponsor a total of 30 deserving students from Terry Fox Elementary with brand new, great quality boots and jackets! We were also able to spend approximately $350 of the raised donations towards providing grocery support to families during the holiday season. A huge thank you to sponsors who contribute to our campaign each year so that we can continue to provide these essentials during the cold winter months! We would like to offer a very special thank you to Sevenoaks Sport Chek for providing the discounts that allowed us to get the best quality items for these students! Without their discount the total cost of the purchased items would have been upwards of $4300. We want to also say thank you to the principals and administrators at Terry Fox who were able to gather the information we needed on the students so quickly in order to have all the shopping completed before the winter break! Our 3rd annual Holiday Drive is back! For the past 3 years we have only been able to continue this campaign because of amazing sponsors from the community. This year Terry fox students, several of whom are new refugees, requested warm winter gear on their wish lists. Jackets, boots, snow pants and gloves. Sport Chek graciously provided us with a discount to get these gifts so we have already made the purchases. Each student’s wish list is approximately $50. We will be posting the wish lists on our story soon! HOW TO HELP: 1. You can select a student’s wish list to sponsor. Send us a DM and we will send you the receipt for how much their item costed and you can e-transfer directly. 2. If you would like to support our campaign, you can select any amount you are comfortable with and e-transfer it directly to info@sevabc.org. by @seva.bc
